| The past year has been a banner one for Foo Fighters. After spending the last decade-plus establishing themselves as one of the biggest bands in the world by crafting their unique brand of rock that manages to transcend fads while leaving room for evolution and experimentation, the band is now as diverse musically as it’s ever been, paving the way for their current success.
Since the October '07 release of their sixth studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, the Foos have won two Grammys (including their third 'Best Rock Album' award), made their fifth (!) appearance on Saturday Night Live, sold out arenas around the world and even broken a record or two (their first single "The Pretender" set a new record with 18 weeks at #1 on the Modern Rock airplay chart). This was followed up with their second #1 single in support of ESP&G, “Long Road to Ruin,” and currently their third installment, “Let It Die,” is motoring up the charts. All the while, ESP&G has received some of the best reviews of the band's career – as Entertainment Weekly put it, "the band has taken everything it's always done best... and brought it to the next level."
2008 has already seen the band bringing their songs to the masses with triumphant performances across Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the US, with the latter including a sold out Madison Square Garden, and this summer shows no sign of the Foos slowing down. In June, the band will return to another of their homes away from home for two sold out nights at England’s Wembley Stadium. They’ll also perform a string of headline and festival shows across Europe, with stops in Norway, Sweden and Germany. The band return to the States in July for a tour that includes two nights at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks, a headline set at the Virgin Mobile Festivals in both Toronto & Baltimore, and a special appearance in Milwaukee in celebration of Harley Davidson's 105th Anniversary.
