U2: Verified Fan Explained Tickets to U2’s eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour on sale November 20th

U2: Verified Fan Explained

Tickets to U2’s eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour on sale November 20th

Hang on! Before your eyes glaze over, this is very important and something you will want to pass on to your readers.

In an effort to keep tickets out of the clutches of bots and scalpers, U2 is implementing Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system to ensure that tickets purchased on November 20th for the band’s North American eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour are purchased by actual fans.

Anyone planning on purchasing U2 tickets on November 20th will need to register by Saturday November 18th at 10pm PST.
you can register here:
https://u2.tmverifiedfan.com/

Just in case you missed that, let me say it again:

Anyone planning on purchasing U2 tickets on November 20th will need to register by Saturday November 18th at 10pm PST.
you can register here:
https://u2.tmverifiedfan.com/

Here is what you need to know:

What is Verified Fan?
Verified Fan essentially means that you need to register to prove that you are an actual human. As it pertains to U2, it means you need to sign up by November 18th to become eligible to buy tickets on November 20th when the tour goes on sale.

How do I register?
You can register here:
https://u2.tmverifiedfan.com/
Signing up is free of course and it takes about two minutes… no really, I just did it.  You sign up, give ’em your cell phone number and you’ll get a text with instructions and a follow up text with a code… That’s all.
With just two text messages you will have access to the wonderful world of bot-free ticket purchasing. Ticketmaster won’t give out your number, and you won’t receive any marketing texts from them ever, unless you request them.
However: You need that code to buy tickets on November 20th.

Why is this a good thing?
Because bots and scalpers are bullies, and they’re buying the good seats and selling them for a mark up. And October was National Bullying Prevention month… did you even know that?
And because this should be the future of ticketing. And we need folks to register for this to work. And we need you, the media, to alert everyone.
So let’s make sure that everyone knows:
Anyone planning on purchasing U2 tickets on November 20th will need to register by Saturday November 18th at 10pm PST.

Can anyone buy tickets on November 20?
Yes! But only if they register as a Verified Fan by November 18th, 10pm PST.
You can register here:
https://u2.tmverifiedfan.com/

Can you register and not buy tickets?
Yes, just go ahead and register. No one will force you to buy a ticket later.

Can you buy tickets on November 20th if you haven’t registered?
NO!
I knew you weren’t paying attention… You need to sign up because we want to make sure that these tickets aren’t getting into the wrong hands. It really bums us out when we see tickets online for ten times their face value. And it really, really bums us out when fans show up at the venue with fake tickets because they didn’t buy them through the proper channels.

Is this different than Paperless Ticketing?
Yes, very.
For one thing, Paperless Ticketing is not yet legal in New York.
Also, there are a few pitfalls with paperless ticketing that we’d like to avoid… For example, you buy 4 U2 tickets like a good friend does, and then your sister decides to get married that day and you have to miss the show. Your friends should still get to go to the show, right?
Things happen, we get it.

Does registering guarantee you’ll get to buy a ticket?
No. This is an arena tour, which is like a club show when you’re the biggest band in the world, so it will probably sell out.
Also, if you aren’t a human you won’t get the code. Oh and if you’re attempting to acquire thousands of codes for each city, Ticketmaster will notice and they will unfriend you.
You can buy up to four tickets per show with each code, while ticket availability lasts.

If you are a U2.com subscriber do you need to register?
Yes! You have a different window, a very special window at the front of the line. You should go here for specific U2.com subscriber information:
http://www.u2.com/news/title/ticket-presales-subscribers-verified-fans

Do it now! U2.com subscribers deadline for the Verified Fan registration is November 12th.

Do you need to register if you’re a Citi Card member?
Also yes!
Citi Card members have until November 14th to register.
And guess what? You can register here:
https://u2.tmverifiedfan.com/

Where do I go if I still have further questions?

The sold out Gorillaz show at the Forum continues the Humanz tour that began its sold-out North American run July 8 in Chicago. The tour has played Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Detroit, St. Paul, Kansas City, Denver, Las Vegas and more to the largest and most enthusiastic U.S. crowds Gorillaz has seen to date—and critical response has been equally enthusiastic:

“An overwhelming pop spectacle, with Damon Albarn’s steady presence to keep the audience focused”—ROLLING STONE

“The guests came fast and furious… but despite the frontman’s oft-stated wishes to increasingly blur into the group’s background as they evolve – last night was still unquestionably Damon’s show, as both star and director, and it ended as a smashing success for fans of all ages.”–BILLBOARD

“The ultimate triumph was Albarn’s — a multiculti, multigenre musical journey that touched on hip-hop, funk, Chicago house and gospel.”—CHICAGO TRIBUNE

“Gorillaz may be a ‘virtual’ band comprised of cartoon characters drawn by Tank Girl co-creator Jamie Hewlett. But its flesh-and-blood incarnation, led by Damon Albarn, is a force to be reckoned with — which the group proved again… a soaring delight from start to finish… The cartoons may be great fun, but it’s the human side that makes Gorillaz really swing.”—DAILY TRIBUNE (MI)

“Mind blowing… expectations were blown out of the water”—TWIN CITIES MEDIA

“”[Gorillaz’s set] wasn’t played so much as detonated on the Downtown Stage on Sunday as the three-day Life is Beautiful music and arts festival came to an incendiary close… The band’s 20-song, 90-minute set was paced for maximum impact”–LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL (10 best LIB 2017 performances: Gorillaz #1)

“Albarn and company put on an all-star show that practically felt like a festival in and of itself.”—YAHOO MUSIC

Humanz was released April 28th on Warner Bros. to widespread critical acclaim, reaching #1 and #2 in the U.S. and U.K. album charts respectively, and topping the iTunes chart in 60 plus countries around the world. The 14-track album is available on standard CD, vinyl and as a digital download, as well as a 19-track 2-CD Deluxe. A limited edition Super Deluxe Vinyl Box Set featuring new and previously unreleased ‘b-sides’ / alternate versions of album tracks, is available to pre-order via gorillaz.com/store now. Produced by Gorillaz, The Twilite Tone of D /\ P and Remi Kabaka and recorded in London, Paris, New York, Chicago and Jamaica, Humanz comes seven years on from the release of albums The Fall and Plastic Beach. Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (guitar), Russel Hobbs (drums) and 2D (vocals) are – as always – joined by a stellar line up of featured artists which includes Jehnny Beth (Savages), Danny Brown, Benjamin Clementine, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Peven Everett, Anthony Hamilton, Grace Jones, Zebra Katz, Kelela, Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Popcaan, Pusha T, Jamie Principle and Kali Uchis among others.

“Their most epic statement yet—their best in years too… worthy of the ‘60s and ‘70s rock gods”—PEOPLE

“Grohl and the Foos rework rock history into an album that pays homage to, and uses their love for, the late greats to reinvigorate the band. It’s an album for rock fans and rock stars: The Foo Fighters rank among the best of both.”—AV CLUB

“Their most balanced record yet… adds big-studio texture without diluting the band’s raw tumult… The highlight is ‘The Sky Is a Neighborhood,’ a hulking dream-metal anthem: ‘Trouble to the right and left,’ Grohl sings, driving into the darkness with a Bic lighter raised to the heavens.”—ROLLING STONE

“Easily the finest album of the Foo Fighters’ 20-plus year recording career, an artistic breakthrough that hopefully marks the start of an exciting new era in the band’s continued musical odyssey.”—POPMATTERS

Foo Fighters’ ninth studio album Concrete and Gold has entered the Billboard 200 at #1, with sales of nearly 130,000 copies in the first week since its September 15 release on Roswell Records/RCA Records.

The second FF album to hit #1 in the U.S.–the first being 2011’s Wasting Light—Concrete and Gold has also posted the band’s biggest ever first week numbers outside its home country. At press time, the album’s world domination included #1 debuts in a total of eleven countries: The U.S., the UK (the band’s fourth UK #1), Australia (its seventh Australian #1), New Zealand (its sixth #1 in New Zealand), Canada (the band’s third Canadian #1), Ireland (first FF #1 since 2002), Norway, Austria, Greece, Japan and the Netherlands—the latter three territories seeing their first #1 Foo Fighters record. Additionally, Concrete and Gold bowed at #2 in Germany, Sweden, Italy and Belgium, #3 in Finland, and #9 in France, marking the band’s first French top 10 debut.

Additional #1 debuts are expected as international sales numbers are tallied throughout the coming week.

Concrete and Gold’s arrival was most recently heralded by “The Sky Is A Neighborhood,” visually realized as a Grohl-directed kaleidoscopic sci-fi mini-epic as hypnotic as the slow burning stadium stomper that gave it life. The run-up to Concrete and Gold began just as auspiciously, with the June 1 surprise release of the Billboard Mainstream Rock #1 smash summer anthem of 2017, “Run.” With more than 2 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, “Run” rocketed into the top 5 of the iTunes video chart and the top of the 15 iTunes singles chart—quickly amassing the highest first-day numbers of any single in the Foo Fighters’ career. And now finally 2017’s most massive and ambitious rock n roll opus is available to all as it sits atop the global charts.

Concrete and Gold will naturally be supported with an extensive trek of the arena, stadium and festival stages of the world. The U.S. leg kicks off October 7 with the band’s Cal Jam 17 festival at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, CA: a non-stop 100% live 12-hour rock n roll extravaganza featuring Queens Of The Stone Age, Cage The Elephant, Liam Gallagher, The Kills, Royal Blood, Japandroids, Wolf Alice, Bob Mould, The Struts, Bully, Circa Waves, Babes in Toyland, Adia Victoria, Fireball Ministry, The Obsessed, Pinky Pinky, Starcrawler, White Reaper… as well as camping, carnival rides, a water park, attractions, a mobile recording studio & so much more. On Friday night, October 6, campers will also experience the world’s best Go-Go band Big Tony & Trouble Funk, an outdoor movie theater and many other surprises.

For further information, go to Caljamfest.com.Concrete and Gold was written and performed by Foo Fighters, produced by Greg Kurstin and Foo Fighters, and mixed by Darrell Thorp. Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee.

BECK: “UP ALL NIGHT” NEWEST TRACK & EPIC VIDEO FROM COLORS

BECK

“Up All Night”

NEWEST TRACK & EPIC VIDEO FROM COLORS

FOLLOW UP TO GRAMMY ALBUM OF THE YEAR MORNING PHASE OUT OCTOBER 13

Pre-Order Live Now

Beck has issued an anthemic call to arms–and legs–with “Up All Night,” the irresistible new single and epic video one-two salvo in advance of his imminent 13th album and “euphoric blast of experimental pop” (ROLLING STONE), Colors – due out October 13 on Capitol Records.

In keeping with the life-affirming spirit and groove of the song itself, the sweeping cinematic arc created by Director Canada, Executive Producer Oscar Romagosa and Producer Laura Serra Estorch features a narrative of triumph over hallucinogenic adversity. “Up All Night” tracks its fearless heroine (Solene Rigot) through an increasingly bizarre series of trials as she races against the sun-and at times the very rules of reality-to rescue a fallen friend (Pedro Attenborough).

Having appeared in an earlier incarnation on the EA SPORTS FIFA 17 soundtrack, the buoyant “Up All Night” is the newest advance taste of the most aptly titled work in Beck’s storied discography. Beck’s first full length offering of new material since 2014’s Morning Phase took Album of the Year top honors at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, Colors unfolds in an intoxicating rainbow of auditory tricks and treats, making it a shoo-in for the summeriest smash of the fall season. Prior to “Up All Night,” the album’s most recent single was the captivating piano-driven “Dear Life,” released August 24 and eliciting Beatles and Beach Boys comparisons from THE NEW YORK TIMES amongst a slew of generation spanning critical raves including:
“‘Dear Life’ makes good on Beck’s promise, with waltzing pianos, a killer guitar riff, and am immediately memorable chorus.”–ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

“Leave it to Beck to craft a sunny, upbeat pop song that doubles as a scream into the void… the kaleidoscopic new single from his forthcoming album, Colors, has something for partiers and wallflowers alike… when Beck asks on the buoyant chorus about the thrill being gone, the answer is: not yet-not in his career, not in this life-affirming song.”–PITCHFORK

“Fans of Beck will have even more to love in the perennial hitmaker’s latest… a dark pop-rock sound that hints at influences from everyone from The Beatles to Spoon.”–TIME 5 Songs You Need To Listen To This Week

The complete track listing for Colors is:

Colors
7th Heaven
I’m So Free
Dear Life
No Distraction
Dreams
Wow
Up All Night
Square One
Fix Me

Colors was produced by Greg Kurstin and Beck, with the exception of “Wow” produced by Beck and Cole M.G.N., and “Fix Me” produced by Beck. The album was mixed by Serban Ghenea, except “Dreams” and “Up All Night,” which were mixed by Greg Kurstin and Beck.

Beck recently accepted U2’s invitation to appear as special guest on the current leg of The Joshua Tree Tour 2017, on which he is supporting the band on stadium dates that began September 3 at Ford Field in Detroit and continue through September 22 at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: VILLAINS STEALS TOP SPOTS ON CHARTS WORLDWIDE

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE

VILLAINS STEALS TOP SPOTS ON CHARTS WORLDWIDE

#1 DEBUT ON U.S. ALBUM CHART

Critical Smash Seventh Album Debuts at #1 in Seven Countries

“(FOUR STARS) Suggesting latter-day Led Zep if they’d wrapped their head around New Wave… a galloping assault pitched between Devo and the Buzzcocks… Headbangers may be put off that QOTSA is now targeting feet and asses; too bad for them.”—ROLLING STONE

“A 100% hit-rate exceedingly rare for rock bands with 20 years in the game… Many younger acts start running on steam in hardly half the time that QOTSA’s managed to maintain their grease-fire fuel source, making their continued vitality not only impressive but reassuringly inspiring. It remains unclear whether Homme would like us to see him as hero or villain, but there’s no disputing that his example is one that every other band should be striving to follow either way.”—STEREOGUM

“Homme’s rock ’n’ roll instincts are still as keen as ever… even more miraculous is the notion that Queens of the Stone Age have perhaps yet to hit their creative peak—no small feat for any band”—PASTE

“The grooviest record the alt-rock mainstays have released… the results thrill.”—PEOPLE

“Purposeful and sinister … like a snarling, evil thing cut loose and raging. I couldn’t ask this band for more.”—VULTURE

“An utterly unique institution in contemporary music, a smart and contrarian hard-rock behemoth… affects a veneer of bravado that nonetheless feels wounded and vulnerable… hearing Homme, rock’s reigning man’s man, sing so openly about personal weakness is bracing.”—UPROXX

The critics and the people—hey, everyone’s a critic right?—have spoken:

Queens Of The Stone Age’s monolithic seventh album, Villains, released August 25 on Matador Records, has stolen the hearts and souls of the music-loving (and purchasing) populace the world over.

Villains debuted at #1 in the UK, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland and Portugal, #2 in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Norway and Ireland, #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the U.S. album chart, #4 on Japan’s international chart and #5 in Italy—easily the single biggest global sales week of the Queens’ seven album stretch.

Villains’ first seven days in existence also saw nearly 100,000 vinyl albums moved worldwide, as the record became the #1 selling vinyl LP in the UK, U.S. and Germany.

In other good news on the band’s U.S. home front, Villains also took the #1 spot on the Alternative, Hard, Rock, Internet and Independent Label Album charts and #2 on the Digital Album sales chart.

With the unlikely pairing of producer Mark Ronson and Queens Of The Stone Age now a scientifically proven success,  Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore will take the new songs on the road this week, opening the North American leg of the Villains world tour with a long since sold out show September 6 at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY. Tickets for the massive run, which includes the band’s first ever headline at New York’s Madison Square Garden, have already sold out at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks, as well as in Grand Rapids, Cleveland, St. Louis, Kansas City, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Washington DC, Boston, Portland ME and more to go clean soon…

FOO FIGHTERS: “RUN” 2.2 MILLION YOUTUBE VIEWS IN FIRST 24 HOURS

FOO FIGHTERS

“RUN”

2.2 Million YouTube Views in First 24 Hours

Top 5 iTunes Video Chart

Top 15 iTunes Singles Chart

The people have spoken: They want their summer hard rock anthem and they’ve found it in Foo Fighters’ superlative new “Run.”

In the 24 hours since “Run” was unleashed on the public without warning, an eager populace has devoured the song and its mind boggling time warp of a video to the tune of 2.2 million YouTube views—the highest first-day numbers of any single in the Foo Fighters’ hit-laden career.

At press time, “Run” stood proudly as the the only entry by an actual rock n roll band in theTop 15 of the iTunes songs chart, where it is currently at #14 and climbing. The Dave Grohl-directed “Run” clip has simultaneously hurtled to #5 on the iTunes video chart.

Critical praise has been as deafening as “Run” itself, with raves from longtime supporters to first time boosters:

“An onslaught of guitars… (an) anthem readymade for singalongs”—USA TODAY Song of the Week

“Eight (and perhaps soon to be nine) albums into his Foo Fighters career, Grohl still wails with the infectiously unhinged force of a kid a third his age.”—NPR

“The song and the Dave Grohl-directed video are a brilliant return to form for the esteemed rockers.”—NOISEY

“An immediate asskicker… a full-bore riff-rocker with a huge, triumphant chorus. —STEREOGUM

“The Dave Grohl-led outfit is celebrating 22 years this summer, but anyone fearing that the band’s sledgehammer riffs have gone soft will have their ear drums pounded into rubble by their new song, ‘Run.’ Age brings wisdom, and a greater ability to shred.”—PEOPLE

“Opens as a dreamy, slow burner then, as you’d expect with the Foos, quickly turns heavy as thunder. How heavy? So heavy your mom will hate it and your neighbors will tell you to turn it down. So heavy it might just feature some of the most hulking moments in the Foos’ canon.”—BILLBOARD

“No one in this band is ever going to age. They’ve sipped from the fountain of the youth and will remain spry even from the grave… There is some truth here, though: Should the band ever meet their twilight years, they would almost certainly tear the roof off of a retirement home… and rock their wrinkled faces off with a song possibly even more ferocious than this.”—VULTURE

“The brawl and madness continue as ‘Run’ vacillates between a vicious rager and a steady headbanger.”—ROLLING STONE

“Foo Fighters have made their epic return with a new single ‘Run,’ alongside an amazing music video directed by frontman Dave Grohl.”—ALTERNATIVE PRESS

“There’s a none-too-subtle message here about not going gently into that good night; although the Foo Fighters are nearing the band’s 25th anniversary, they’re still a long way from the retirement home.”–AV CLUB

“Foo Fighters return with glorious new single ‘Run’ and video… With the hiatus officially over, the band has returned with a new sense of purpose… By the end of the whole thing, you’ll have the air knocked right out of ya.”—CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

“America’s favorite rockers are back..a dynamic new single that is sure to appeal to the hardcore Foo fans–and might earn them some new ones.”—PASTE

“Foo Fighters don’t do anything by half, and the group returned with a bang Thursdaymorning with a new single and video, ‘Run.’ The five-minute-plus song combines a driving riff and soaring chorus with a near-thrash-metal breakdown that brings even more heft to an already heavy track.”—VARIETY

GROHL-DIRECTED EPIC VIDEO LIVE NOW
AT FOOFIGHTERS.COM

Hearts and minds — and, it goes without saying, eardrums — were blown this morning as the world’s biggest exporter of undiluted American stadium rock, Foo Fighters, surprise-released “Run,” a monolithic song of the summer shoo-in as melodic as it is monstrously heavy.

An ageless melodic hard rock anthem that showcases everything that’s made Foo Fighters an unstoppable road and radio conquering machine, “Run” is the first new Foo Fighters music since the band gifted fans with the free Saint Cecilia EP in late 2015.

“Run” is accompanied by a time-traveling mind-warp of a video directed by the band’s own Dave Grohl, in which the song’s dive-bombing verses and soaring choruses are matched by an insane performance from the band as you’ve never seen them before, playing for an audience you’d never imagine. All told, the “Run” video is as much a must-see as the song is an instant FF classic, both boldly looking into the band’s future while building on the rock solid Foo Fighters foundation.

Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee.
