“PETER PAN” (Equiknoxx Remix)

VIDEO DIRECTED BY STORM SAULTER
STARRING MALEIK LAMONT & RAYANA CAMPBELL
CHOREOGRAPHY BY AMANYEA STINES

PREMIERE LIVE AT LARGE UP NOW

As Arcade Fire approach the grand finale of their Everything Now Continued Tour, headlining The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles tonight, a new remix and accompanying video have been released for “Peter Pan” from the band’s Grammy-nominated international #1 album, Everything Now. Watch the video HERE.

Created completely independently by Negril, Jamaica-born director Storm Saulter (Better Mus’ Come), the “Peter Pan (Equiknoxx Remix)” clip plays like a short film–a “Lo-Fi Teenage Dancehall Fairytale” in Saulter’s words.

The video features Kingston dancehall stars Maleik Lamont and Rayana Campbell as Peter and Wendy, whose story plays out in a hypnotic mix of neon tinged nightscapes and kinetically charged dance sequences choreographed by Amanyea Stines (who also plays one of Wendy’s dancers, was responsible for casting all of the dancers in the video, and whose credits include work with Cardi B and Major Lazer among others).

The entire “Peter Pan” project speaks to Arcade Fire’s love for and familiarity with the music, culture and people of Jamaica. Storm Saulter’s relationship with the band traces back to their meeting through mutual friend Chris Blackwell, with an immediate bond formed that led to Saulter photographing the band at Trident Castle in Port Antonio during the sessions for their Reflektor album. Saulter’s involvement with “Peter Pan” was much deeper than the typical music video director: The “Peter Pan” version that serves as soundtrack to Peter and Wendy’s romance was coordinated by him–both the Equiknoxx remix as well as the dub mix by Saulter’s composer Jeremy Ashbourne.

Arcade Fire are currently playing the last few headline dates of their current tour tonight September 20 in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre, following by two nights at the Greek Theatre in Berekeley September 21 and 22. The last show of the tour will be Arcade’s September 23 return to Las Vegas for the Life Is Beautiful festival.

ARCADE FIRE: “CHEMISTRY” NEW VIDEO LIVE NOW

ARCADE FIRE

“CHEMISTRY”

NEW VIDEO LIVE NOW

Directed by Ray Tintori and Animated by Starburns Industries

Arcade Fire has unveiled a new animated video for “Chemistry,” from the international #1 album Everything Now.

Directed by Ray Tintori, animated by Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty, Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa, Community) and featuring Tootie Tootz of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce fame, “Chemistry” expands on the song’s theme of chemical attraction, turning it into a cartoon about a dog and cat who meet and fall in love at her wedding reception, where he is working as a caterer, and she is marrying a shark.

Collaborating with Tintori–whose work ranges from videos for MGMT, Chairlift, and Moses Sumney to creating the debut film for Google’s Tilt Brush and the Aurochs sequences for Beasts of the Southern Wild — has been on Win Butler of Arcade Fire’s mind for years: “We’ve been big fans of Ray’s work since his early videos and there was talk of collaborating during The Suburbs shoot–we were going to film it in New Orleans but then it got moved to Austin at the last minute, and Ray was caught up working on Beasts of the Southern Wild. So it was very full circle to finally be working with him in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. There is a playful, carnivalesque energy to the song; to capture that by filming literally during carnival felt right.”

While the core “Chemistry” story is of an animated dog and cat (played by Ms. Tootz) meeting at her wedding reception where the dog is working as a caterer, the animated characters travel to space at one point, and after destroying the International Space Station, land back on Earth, finding themselves in the midst of the Fat Tuesday in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans.

Arcade Fire resume their Everything Now Continued world tour tonight at Ahoy in Rotterdam, NL. See below for a full itinerary of the tour, which runs through September 23 where it concludes at the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas.

ARCADE FIRE PRESENTS

“MONEY + LOVE”

A FILM BY DAVID WILSON

STARRING ARCADE FIRE & TONI COLLETTE

NEW TEASER LIVE NOW AT https://youtu.be/jdQXK2kfWek

Everything Now is proud to present a more in depth advance look at “Money + Love,” a double video directed by David Wilson, written by David Wilson and Arcade Fire, and starring Arcade Fire and Toni Collette.

“Money + Love” will be released March 15. The new teaser is now live at https://youtu.be/jdQXK2kfWek.

“Money + Love” opens in the aftermath of Arcade Fire’s 360-degree deal with global media and e-commerce platform Everything Now, and features a narrative that unfolds over the course of full performances of “Put Your Money on Me” and “We Don’t Deserve Love” from the GRAMMY-nominated global #1 album Everything Now (Sonovox/Columbia).

Win Butler commented on the ambitious scope of the two-song short film, “The concept of a double video really appealed to us, we’d always loved songs being put together as A and B sides… and these songs seemed perfect together. David has been a great collaborator for us since Reflektor and we were finally able to work with Toni whom we’d been wanting to work with for some time”.

Director/co-writer David Wilson added, “The ambition and scale of the piece was huge from the outset. I adore working with Arcade Fire – reacting to their vision and scale is a beautiful thing to creatively respond to. The belief and trust in me from the band made this one of the best experiences of my career. It’s an as-close-to-perfect collaboration that I can think of with me and Win hitting emails backwards and forwards continually over the formation of the script. The connection, communication and enthusiasm from the band on the multiple shoot days led to an extremely tight bond. I’m super excited for this to be out in the world.”

Toni Collette said of her role, “Arcade Fire is on of my all time favorite bands. I was blown away when they asked me to be part of their video. It was a total pleasure acting with them and an even greater pleasure getting to know them. They continue to inspire and I continue to admire. I mean, who gets to do that? I am so lucky!”

Having closed out 2017 with a triumphant run through Latin America, Arcade Fire resumes its Infinite Content Tour on March 1, when the band headlines the Okeechobee Festival in Okeechobee, Florida. The Infinite Content Tour will see Arcade Fire headlining sold out dates across the UK and Europe from April 6at the 3Arena in Dublin through June 18 at the Stadthalle in Vienna. Following that, Arcade Fire will return to the States for a trio of festival headlines: Summerfest’s July 8closer (the band’s  first Milwaukee appearance in 14 years), July 14 at Sloss Music & Arts Festival in Birmingham AL, and July 15 at Forecastle in Louisville KY.

Proceeds To Be Donated to the Preservation Hall Foundation & KANPE

In anticipation of the inaugural Krewe du Kanaval taking place Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in New Orleans, the Preservation Hall Horns, RAM and Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire have collaborated on “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!),” a Krewe du Kanaval theme, released today at www.kanaval.org.

“Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!),” recorded in New Orleans last week, is an embodiment of the spirit of Krewe du Kanaval: a new Mardi Gras Krewe, mobile music event and celebration of Haiti and the diaspora of cultures that have enriched New Orleans’ identity and arts for hundreds of years.

The music of “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!)” was written by Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, with lyrics by Win Butler, Regine Chassagne, and Richard Morse. The song was produced by Win Butler, Regine Chassagne, and Eric Heigle, and mixed by Craig Silvey with Win Butler and Eric Heigle.

The inaugural Krewe du Kanaval will run from 12 noon through to the late evening, consisting of a parade/procession through the French Quarter and Treme, a free afternoon festival in Armstrong Park and a ticketed Kanaval Ball at the iconic club One Eyed Jacks. Much like the theme song, the Krewe itself is a joint effort between Preservation Hall, Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire and Haitian friends. It aims to be a welcome and necessary annual addition to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras traditions and will raise funds to benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation and KANPE – two not-for-profit organizations which serve important unmet social and cultural needs in New Orleans and Haiti.

Confirmed talent includes members of Arcade Fire including singers Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, the world famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band, DJ Nickodemus, DJ Cosmo Gonik, Paul Beaubrun and special guests from Haiti including RAM.
