The February dates have been rescheduled to May 15 & 16.

All tickets for the original dates will be honored.

Who didn’t see this one coming… It’s official: Foo Fighters’ DIRECTV Super Saturday Night February 2 at Atlantic Station in Atlanta with special guest Run The Jewels is 100% SOLD OUT. Nothing you can do short of impersonating the Fed Ex or pizza delivery person or taking out a second mortgage can get you into this once in a lifetime show now…

There is good news, though: Both performances—Foo Fighters and Run The Jewels—will be streamed live to fans across the world on Twitter https://twitter.com/DIRECTV or on AUDIENCE NETWORK on DIRECTV CH 239 or on DIRECTV NOW.

The live stream begins at 10:30pm ET with FOO FIGHTERS hitting the stage at 11:00pm ET.

Yes, the stadium-shaking anthems that have earned Foo Fighters 12 Grammy Awards, sold 25 million records and continue to sell millions of tickets the world over will come to your living room if you can’t make it to Atlanta. And don’t sleep on this one: The band has been circling the globe crushing it with rock marathons since its latest album, the international #1 Concrete and Gold, was released in September 2017. There are fewer Foo Fighters U.S. gigs left on the itinerary than you can count on two hands so make sure you’re in front of that phone, tablet or TV screen February 2. It may be your last dose of live Foo Fighters for quite some time to come. And Run the Jewels are sure to crush it too. If there was ever a night to make any excuse to stay in and go big…

In the meantime, get psyched for the big show the night before the big game, specifically: Get Jacked on Jackalopes! Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8LeYu2uybU for a brand new short film written and directed by Foo Fighters’ own Dave Grohl, featuring Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan—and of course some more familiar faces—in a hilarious time warping homage that presents the familiar Foo Fighters comedic chops in a classic 1970s cinematic style and story (and don’t forget the cheerleaders):

Larry Butz (Dave Grohl) sponsored by Butz Bail Bonds
Helmuut Pyle (Pat Smear) sponsored by Pyles Adult diapers
Jake Schenker (Chris Shiflett)
Bertrand Hitchens (Nate Mendel) sponsored by 1 800 Ferns
Bret Rogers (Taylor Hawkins)

The Longest Yard and Invincible got nothing on the Jackalopes—you’ll be on the edge of your seat dying to know “WILL THEY MAKE IT TO SUPER SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE BIG GAME?”

Dave Grohl to Launch “PLAY” Music Gear Auction on Reverb

Dave Grohl to Launch “PLAY” Music Gear Auction on Reverb

Proceeds Will Benefit Organizations That Help Budding Musicians ‘Just Play’;

Limited Edition “PLAY” Vinyl Out NOW

Friday, September 28, 2018—After having unleashed his unprecedented and immersive project “PLAY,” Dave Grohl today announced The Dave Grohl “PLAY” Reverb Auction in partnership with Reverb.com, the leading online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling musical instruments. The auction launches on Tuesday, October 9, and will feature guitars, drums, and more signed by the musician. Proceeds from the auction will go to organizations that help young generations of musicians “just PLAY.”

In August, Grohl released “PLAY,” a two-part mini-documentary that celebrates the rewards and challenges of dedicating one’s life to mastering a musical instrument and culminates in a 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental song performed live by Grohl on seven different instruments. In conjunction with the project, recording studios around the country donated session time to young musicians. In support of musicians like these, Grohl is auctioning a collection of signed instruments that mirror the musical equipment used to create “PLAY.”

“When I take my kids to their music lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out. I’m inspired by watching that process,” Grohl said. “Even now, as a 49-year-old man, I’m still trying to figure it out. It’s not something that you ever truly master. You’re always chasing the next challenge, and you’re always trying to find a way to improve what you’ve learned.”

Beginning on Tuesday, October 9, fans can bid on music gear donated by DW Drums, Fender, Gibson Gretsch, Ludwig, Made By Maple, and Zildjian — all signed by Grohl. Proceeds from the auction will benefit several organizations that make it possible for young musicians to learn and grow.

“Seeing my own kids start to play music and take lessons brings me back to the time when I was their age, chipping away at it and learning from my mistakes,” Grohl said. “ It’s a lifelong obsession, but at the end of the day—just like any kid—the reward is just to play.”

The auction will begin on Tuesday, October 9, and end in the evening on Sunday, October 21. Note that Reverb only hosts auctions on the rare occasion that the team deems items truly one-of-a-kind. To preview the items that will be available in The Dave Grohl “PLAY” Reverb Auction and a video of Grohl talking about the initiative, visit http://Reverb.com/DaveGrohlPLAY.

And at long last, the limited edition vinyl release for “PLAY” is available now. The LP features a 180 gram, single-sided vinyl with Grohl’s studio floor plan that was used for the recording of “PLAY” etched on the B-side.  The intricate packaging is a reverse gatefold that opens up diagonally and includes an insert of the mic input list from the recording session. Available for purchase now at your local record store or https://shop.foofighters.com/collections/dave-grohl-play.

Very special thanks to the manufacturers and studios who graciously donated gear and session time.

FOO FIGHTERS RESCHEDULE TWO CANADIAN DATES DUE TO ILLNESS

FOO FIGHTERS RESCHEDULE TWO CANADIAN DATES DUE TO ILLNESS

Foo Fighters have had to reschedule two shows on the Canadian leg of the Concrete and Gold tour: September 4 in Edmonton at Rogers Place and September 6 in Calgary at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The new Edmonton date is now October 22 and the new Calgary date is October 23.

After opening this leg of the tour September 1 at Safeco Field in Seattle, Dave Grohl suffered a loss of voice and is now on vocal rest. “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono,” Grohl commented.

Previously purchased tickets will be honoured for these new dates. If a refund is required, refunds are available at point of purchase until September 25.

The Concrete and Gold tour will resume September 8 in Vancouver at Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena. Foo Fighters are, as always, grateful for  understanding and support of their fans everywhere and look forward to seeing everyone in Edmonton and Calgary in October.

“Watching my kids start to play music and learn to sing or play drums, it brings me back to the time when I was their age listening to albums, learning from listening… and when I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out. And even now, as a 49-year-old man, I’m still trying to figure it out… it’s not something that you ever truly master. You’re always chasing the next challenge, and you’re always trying  to find a way to improve on what you’ve learned.”Dave Grohl

As Foo Fighters wind down another leg of the massive Concrete and Gold tour with a Wrigley Field doubleheader that rocked 75,000+ of Chicago’s FF faithful, Dave Grohl announces an unprecedented new project born of the most challenging performance of his storied career:

“PLAY” is a two part mini-documentary, directed by Grohl with help from his Sound City/Sonic Highways collaborator Mark Monroe, celebrating the rewards and challenges of dedicating ones life to playing and mastering a musical instrument. Part one opens with narrated behind the scenes footage featuring discussion of the love of playing music and the lifelong relationship with an instrument, and detailing the process and challenges of recording and filming this unique performance.

“PLAY” film then segues to the titular 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental recording on which Grohl plays all seven instruments on the track, all live. The entire song was played by Grohl, each time on a different instrument, live for 23 minutes. Beginning with the recording of the entire drum track purely from memory, with no sheet music or guide tracks, followed by guitar, then bass, then keyboards, and so on… Grohl tasked himself with a one-man-band recording session that was forced to start from the very beginning of the 23-minute song any time the slightest mistake was made or if Grohl felt he could do a better take. Concrete and Gold engineer Darrell Thorp was on hand to capture the sounds.

Filmed in classic black and white by Brandon Trost (The Disaster Artist, This is The End), with lighting modulating to match the dramatic peaks and valleys of this epic instrumental, “PLAY” was then edited to feature seven Grohl’s recording together. The “PLAY” online interactive experience offers viewer/listener/participants the options of taking in the mini-doc and Grohl performance as is, focusing on one instrument, and/or downloading “PLAY” sheet music. The online version of “PLAY” also includes a list of organizations where time, money and instruments can be donated to the cause—and places where musicians young and old alike can have the opportunity to play live music.

The challenges Grohl created for himself in creating “PLAY” mirror those taken on by music students every day: The obstacles they face in their daily efforts to elevate and improve their abilities are no different than those faced by a world class stadium rocker—both are striving for the same goals. This shared quest gave “PLAY” its mission to inspire and promote music education: The film is intercut with young musicians from the Join The Band music school in the San Fernando Valley practicing their craft, working relentlessly to get it right, and always coming back to the conclusion that, in Grohl’s words, “‘just like any kid, the reward is just to PLAY.”

Through partnerships with music and media organizations, schools and charities the world over, “PLAY” and its portrait of the joy of playing music should be a catalyst for discussion and action to benefit music education on a global level. Keep your eyes on http://play.roswellfilms.com/ for information on upcoming auctions with proceeds benefiting local music education organizations.

OCTOBER 5-6, 2018 AT GLEN HELEN REGIONAL PARK

TICKETS ON SALE THIS THURSDAY AT 10AM PST

A year after the legendary debut weekend from which 30,000+ true rock believers have barely recovered… Cal Jam 18 is back for another weekend of joyful rock-n-roll abandon featuring 20+ bands on four stages this October 5-6, 2018. Promoted by Live Nation, the festival returns to Glen Helen Regional Park and Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA, for an even more monolithic second incarnation of what the Los Angeles Times cited as the reason fans “come to music festivals: to feel connection and catharsis.”

Today, the festival has announced its guitars, guitars and more guitars lineup with Foo Fighters back as headliners and curators, and another once in a lifetime bill that proves that rock-n-roll is alive and well in California. The good times come at the affordable price of $99 (plus taxes and fees) for one day GA. This year, Saturday ticket holders have the option to buy a Friday night ticket for $30 (plus taxes and fees). All camping packages include free entrance to the Friday night Party.  Tickets and camping packages go on sale this Thursday, May 17th at 10AM PST. Visit www.caljamfest.com and www.LiveNation.com for more information.

The good times begin with the Friday night party on October 5th, where those with camping passes and Friday night tickets will be invited to kick off the festival with 80s punk legend Billy Idol. Also on the bill is Bridget Everett, the comedian who Jerry Seinfeld called, “one of the greatest live performers I have ever seen in my life,” and Mexico City’sMexrrissey, performing their set of Smiths and Morrissey cover songs in Spanish, plus so much more. Friday night attendees will also have first crack at the carnival rides and the Rock-N-Roll Museum.

On Saturday, October 6th, Cal Jam will continue last year’s tradition of a 12-hour rock extravaganza where anything can happen—literally anything: last year saw the likes of Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Rick Astley, Dave Koz, Liam Gallagher and more joining the Foo Fighters on stage (yes, all during the same show). Foo Fighters will close the proceedings with one of their traditional rock marathons, bringing back what Forbes called “another great rock and roll party from the band who does them better than anyone else today.” And where last year’s inaugural festival was the beginning of the Foo Fighters’ Concrete and Gold Tour, this year’s appearance brings it full circle as the tour’s final show in the LA area.

This year Dave Grohl and crew will have set themselves up to play after literally the single hardest act to follow in the history of live music: the legendary Iggy Pop. Iggy’s Cal Jam 18 performance will be an exclusive one-off reunion with the all-star Post Pop Depression band that backed him on the handful of shows played in support of the album of the same name, featuring Queens of The Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, Dean Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen and Arctic Monkeys’ drummer Matt Helders.

The incomparable Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D will bring ‘The Metal’ to the masses, and alternative pop-rock icons Garbage will be bring their powerhouse live show to the stage. Also joining the bill will be some of the best that rock and roll has to offer from around the world with the likes of Greta Van Fleet, Silversun Pickups, Manchester Orchestra, Krist Novoselic’s new band Giant In The Trees, Slaves (UK), Gang of Youths, Black Mountain and more performing throughout the day. See full list below.

In addition to the full day of shred, the festival will include a number of activities open to attendees. Campers will be treated to outdoor midnight movies and access to the water park, as well as the newly christened Friday Night Comedy Tent curated by comedian Tim Hanlon (aka Dave’s cousin). Stay tuned for the full schedule to be announced!  All ticket holders will be able to enjoy the site’s free carnival rides, the Rock-N-Roll museum, pop up record shop and a hillside full of flappy guys. Because we can. For those who are looking to imbibe in tasty eats and cold drinks, Cal Jam 18 offers a wide variety of curated food trucks, traditional festival food, and all sorts of delicious cold beer.

“Run,” the summer 2017 smash first single from Foo Fighters’ international #1 album Concrete and Gold (Roswell Records/RCA Records) took home the statue for Best Rock Song at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards in New York City.

The Best Rock Song win for “Run” brings Foo Fighters’ career GRAMMY total to an even dozen. The Best Rock Song victory for “Run”  is the band’s second in the category, following “Walk” taking the honor at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

The opening salvo from Concrete and Gold, “Run” was released without warning June 1, 2017. Receiving more than 2 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, and smashing into the top 5 of the iTunes video chart and the top 15 of the iTunes singles chart, “Run” instantly amassed the highest first-day numbers of any Foo Fighters single. The Billboard Mainstream Rock #1 track has quickly become a live favorite as well, sparking monster singalongs as Foo Fighters Concrete and Gold stadium/arena tour continues to sell out and add dates worldwide.

The tireless Foo Fighters have just begun 2018 in style, with their just-underway stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand. The first U.S. leg of the Concrete and Gold Tour wound down 2017 by storming through sold out arenas in Richmond, Greensboro, Cincinnati, Sioux Falls and more, with Foo Fighters consistently reaching new peaks of their estimable powers: The Herald Whig in Champaign IL raved “the energy didn’t slow down at all during the near-three-hour set… If you get the chance, make sure you don’t miss out. You won’t regret it,” and the Argus Leader called the Foos’ first Sioux Falls appearance in decades “musical genius,” reporting that the band “blew away the crowd… pulling off a performance no one in the audience will forget… delivered the classic rock concert their fans know and love.”
