The Freshen Up tour is Paul’s first outing following the release of his brand new studio album, Egypt Station, out September 7th on Capitol Records. Featuring the AAA Top 10 single “Come On To Me,” Egypt Station is already generating rave reviews, with Q magazine writing in a 4-star review that Paul is “enjoying his music too much to stop now. And so, for that matter, are we,” and Rolling Stone raving “Macca keeps adding new gems to his songbook, with nothing to prove except he’s the only genius who can do this… And, oh yeah — in his spare time, he happens to still be the greatest live performer on Earth.”

Paul will also be appearing on The Howard Stern Show September 5th and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon September 6th.

The U.S. leg of Freshen Up will begin with Paul rocking the Carolinas, on May 27th at the PNC Arena with Paul’s first show in Raleigh NC since 2002’s Driving World Tour and on May 30th with Paul’s debut appearance in Greenville SC at the  Bon Secours Wellness Arena. And on June 11th, Paul will rock the Quad Cities, visiting Moline IL for the first time to play the TaxSlayer Center.

The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: Nearly three hours nightly of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives. Paul and his band have played an unparalleled range of venues and locations throughout the Americas, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and all points between: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert  in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 15+ years – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) –and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.

PAUL McCARTNEY “FUH YOU” NEW SINGLE OUT NOW

PAUL McCARTNEY
“FUH YOU”
NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
EGYPT STATION OUT SEPTEMBER 7 ON CAPITOL RECORDS
Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool
Hour-Long Primetime Special to Air Monday, August 20 at 8pm

Paul McCartney has announced the next stop on the journey to Egypt Station: “Fuh You,” the newest single from the forthcoming record is now available on all digital/streaming platforms.

Egypt Station’s estimated time of arrival is September 7, 2018 by way of Capitol Records.

Sharing a title with one of Paul’s own paintings, Egypt Station is the first full album of all-new McCartney music since 2013’s international chart-topping NEW. Preceded by two of its tracks just released as double A-sides–plaintive ballad  “I Don’t Know” and raucous stomper  “Come On To Me”—Egypt Station was recorded between Los Angeles, London and Sussex, and produced by Greg Kurstin (Adele, Beck, Foo Fighters)—with the exception of the newly available “Fuh You,” which was produced by Ryan Tedder.

Paul recalls the process behind the new single: “With this one I was in the studio with Ryan Tedder whereas the rest of the album has been made with Greg Kurstin… We were just thinking of ideas and little pieces of melody and chords and the song just came together bit by bit. And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story. So it was like ‘Come on baby now. Talk about yourself. Tell the truth, let me get to know you’ and basically I wanna know how you feel, you make me wanna go out and steal. I just want it for you. So that was the basic idea and it developed from there… sort of a love song, but a raunchy love song. There you go – fuh you.”

Of Egypt Station‘s enigmatic title, Paul says, “I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make… Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”

The complete track listing for Egypt Station is:

  1. Opening Station
  2. I Don’t Know
  3. Come On To Me
  4. Happy With You
  5. Who Cares
  6. Fuh You
  7. Confidante
  8. People Want Peace
  9. Hand In Hand
  10. Dominoes
  11. Back In Brazil
  12. Do It Now
  13. Caesar Rock
  14. Despite Repeated Warnings
  15. Station II
  16. Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link

And don’t forget to tune in to CBS 8pm Monday, August 20 for Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool. The hour-long primetime special will feature never-before-seen footage from the wildly popular “Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke” segment which aired on The Late Late Show with James Corden on June 21, 2018, and has since been viewed nearly 130 million times across Facebook and YouTube.

PAUL McCARTNEY: EGYPT STATION NEW STUDIO ALBUM OUT SEPTEMBER 7, 2018 on CAPITOL RECORDS

PAUL McCARTNEY

EGYPT STATION

NEW STUDIO ALBUM OUT SEPTEMBER 7, 2018 on CAPITOL RECORDS

PRE-ORDERS LIVE NOW, INCLUDING DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE “I DON’T KNOW”/“COME ON TO ME”

Paul McCartney invites you on a musical journey to Egypt Station, estimated time of arrival September 7, 2018 by way of Capitol Records.

Sharing a title with one of Paul’s own paintings, Egypt Station is the first full album of all-new McCartney music since 2013’s international chart-topping NEW. Preceded by two of its tracks just released as double A-sides–plaintive ballad  “I Don’t Know” and raucous stomper  “Come On To Me”—Egypt Station was recorded between Los Angeles, London and Sussex, and produced (with the exception of one track) by Greg Kurstin (Adele, Beck, Foo Fighters).

Of the forthcoming album’s enigmatic title, Paul says, “I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make.., Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”

True to the inspiration behind its title, Egypt Station’s 14 songs combine to convey a unique travelogue vibe. Between the opening and closing instrumentals “Station I” and “Station II,” each song finds Paul capturing a place or moment before transporting the listener seamlessly to the next destination. Stops along the way include an acoustic meditation on present day contentedness (“Happy With You”), a timeless anthem that would fit on virtually any album of any McCartney era (“People Want Peace”), and an epic multi-movement closer clocking in at seven minutes with a song suite structure harkening back to the days of Paul’s previous combos (“Despite Repeated Warnings”). The result is a kaleidoscopic journey through myriad musical locales and eras, yet firmly rooted in the here and now–with Paul’s singular unmistakeable melodic sensibility serving as guide.

Confirmation of Egypt Station’s release puts an end to speculation about a new Paul McCartney album that began with the whiting out of his Instagram account as Paul turned up at various landmarks in Liverpool. The capper was a June 9 surprise gig at Liverpool’s tiny Philharmonic Pub, during which “Come On To Me” was debuted alongside a set of classics spanning Paul’s career. Further details to come…

PAUL McCARTNEY TO RELEASE ALL-NEW DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE

PAUL McCARTNEY TO RELEASE ALL-NEW DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE

“I DON’T KNOW”/“COME ON TO ME”

AVAILABLE WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20th on CAPITOL RECORDS

Following a whirlwind week that saw his Instagram presence rebooted as he played one of the most intimate gigs of his storied career, Paul McCartney is done keeping the world in suspense: “I Don’t Know” and “Come On To Me,” will be released tomorrow as a double A-Side single.

The first tastes of Paul’s brand new studio album due out later this year on Capitol Records, the two A-sides are polar opposites: “I Don’t Know” being a plaintive, soul-soothing ballad as only Paul can deliver, and “Come On To Me” a raucous stomper that fans that first spark of chemistry into a rocking blaze.

Worldwide speculation about a new Paul McCartney album instantly reached fever pitch as his Instagram account whited out last week—only to ratchet higher as Paul was spotted taking selfies at landmarks in Liverpool the same day. The evening’s climactic event was a surprise gig at the tiny Liverpool Philharmonic Pub, during which “Come On To Me” made its live debut alongside a set of classics spanning Paul’s career.

Paul’s new album is slated for Fall 2018 release on Capitol Records. Further details will be announced shortly.

PAUL McCARTNEY 2018 CATALOGUE REISSUES OUT MAY 18

PAUL McCARTNEY 2018 CATALOGUE REISSUES OUT MAY 18 VIA MPL/Capitol

NEW

Chaos And Creation In The Backyard

Wings Greatest

Thrillington

FEATURING LIMITED EDITION 180g COLOR VINYL PRESSINGS

On May 18, Paul McCartney will release four 2018 edition catalogue reissues via MPL/Capitol: NEWChaos And Creation In The BackyardWings Greatest and Thrillington. All four titles will be issued in affordable single CD digipak and 180gram black vinyl single LP formats—and will be made available for the first time in limited edition 180gram color vinyl pressings. All vinyl LPs will include a download card.

Upon its release in 2013, NEW was lauded by Rolling Stone as “energized and full of joyous rock & roll invention.” Executive produced by Giles Martin and also featuring production by Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Paul Epworth, NEW entered the U.S. chart at #3. The album scored positive reviews from Entertainment Weekly to Pitchfork and all points in between, while the title track, “Queenie Eye” and “Save Us” would become staples of the McCartney live show over the course of the Out There and One On One world tours. NEW’s 2018 edition will feature the first vinyl pressing of the album since its 2013 release, including a limited edition pink vinyl 180gram vinyl LP with download card and 12×12” insert.

Released in 2005, Chaos And Creation In The Backyard was instantly hailed as continuing a hot streak that included Flaming Pie, Run Devil Run and Driving Rain. Produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck) and featuring the singles “Fine Line” and the Grammy-winning “Jenny Wren,” Chaos And Creation… debuted at #6 on the Billboard chart. It remained on the charts for nearly half a year, while Paul mounted the massive ‘US’ Tour. In 2007, “Jenny Wren” won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, while the album was nominated in three other categories including Album of the Year. The 2018 edition of Chaos And Creation… will make the album available on vinyl for the first time since its initial run and will include a limited edition gold vinyl 180gram vinyl LP with download card and 12×12” insert.

Originally released in 1978, Wings Greatest was the first ever compilation of Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles hits, featuring four classics that had previously been unavailable on any McCartney album: “Another Day,” “Junior’s Farm,” “Hi, Hi, Hi” and “Mull of Kintyre.” The penultimate Wings album release, Wings Greatest was naturally a worldwide hit, and the soundtrack to the 70s for a generation. As part of its 2018 edition reissue, Wings Greatest will be available as a limited edition blue vinyl 180gram vinyl LP with download card and 20”x30” poster.

Recorded in 1971 but not released until 1977, Thrillington remains one of the most enigmatic entries in the storied McCartney discography. Credited to the pseudonym Percy “Thrills” Thrillington, a fictitious socialite whose activities were chronicled in UK newspaper ads, Thrillington was actually a fully reimagined instrumental lounge/jazz version of Paul and Linda McCartney’s RAM. With Thrillington’s 2018 edition, Percy is given a new lease on life with this collector’s item available on vinyl for the first time since the 1977 first pressings that fetch hefty sums on the collectors’ market, plus a limited edition red/black marbled 180gram vinyl LP with download card.

McCARTNEY FAMILY’S MEAT FREE MONDAY – “A GROWING MOVEMENT”

McCARTNEY FAMILY’S MEAT FREE MONDAY – “A GROWING MOVEMENT”

Participation in Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney’s campaign has shot up since the launch of their documentary short ‘One Day a Week’

Support for Meat Free Monday has noticeably increased since the launch of ‘One Day a Week’ in November 2017, ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference.

In addition to many individuals, new supporters include universities (UEA, Ulster), businesses (Universal Music UK, Abbey Road Studios) and schools (Trafford Council, Edinburgh City Council). ‘edie’ also went meat free for its annual Sustainability Leaders Forum in January, and a number of cafes and restaurants in Primrose Hill are supporting the campaign this month. The film was promoted by a range of high profile personalities including Ellen DeGeneres, Mike Bloomberg, Richard Branson, Vivienne Westwood, Chris Packham, Ricky Gervais, Gary Barlow, Leona Lewis and The Killers.

Narrated by Paul McCartney, and with appearances by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, ‘One Day a Week’ describes how the beauty of the planet only exists through a delicate balance of climatic conditions – a balance we are dangerously disrupting through our overconsumption of animal products.

In an interview about the film with National Geographic, Paul McCartney said: “It’s actually quite fun when you look at what you do, what you eat, how you live and think, ‘Is this what I’m going to do the rest of my life, or would it be interesting to try to make a change?’ I think a lot of people do that these days.”

Meat Free Monday’s aim is to raise awareness and inspire people to make a change in their diets from an easily achievable starting point. And, with increasing plant-based options available in shops and restaurants, it’s easier than ever to take part. According to recent findings by Kantar Worldpanel, 29% of all dinners eaten across the UK in the 12 weeks leading to January 31 2018 were vegetarian or vegan.

“The truth is there are a lot of options these days that you can use – it’s really not difficult,” said Paul. “So what we’re doing with Meat Free Monday is urging people to just try it one day, because it will make some kind of a difference, if enough people do it or if the idea spreads. It is a growing movement.”

About the campaign
Launched by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney in 2009, Meat Free Monday is a not-for-profit
campaign which aims to raise awareness of the damaging environmental impact of eating meat,
and to encourage people to help slow climate change, conserve precious natural resources and
improve their health by having at least one meat free day each week.

About the film
One Day a Week was largely funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, and produced by Hope Production in collaboration with Meat Free Monday. The film was directed by Baptiste Rouget-Luchaire, whose work includes ‘7 Billion Others’ (a worldwide project by Yann Arthus-Bertrand) and ‘A Thirsty World’, a film about global water issues.

Facts
• Almost a third of all land on Earth is used for livestock production.1
• A third of all cereal crops, and more than 95 per cent of soy, is turned into feed for farmed
animals.2
• An area of rainforest the size of a hundred football pitches is cut down every hour to create room
for grazing cattle.3
• It can take 2,350 litres of fresh water – that’s about 30 bathtubs! – to produce just one beef
burger.4,5
• According to scientists at the United Nations, livestock production is responsible for 14.5 per
cent of all global greenhouse gas emissions.6 Other scientists say the percentage is even
higher!7
• If present trends continue, over the next 100 years or so there will be a global mass extinction of
species.8

THE McCARTNEYS’ MEAT FREE MONDAY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHES NEW FILM – ‘ONE DAY A WEEK’

THE McCARTNEYS’ MEAT FREE MONDAY CAMPAIGN
LAUNCHES NEW FILM – ‘ONE DAY A WEEK’

With appearances by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, ‘One Day a Week’ highlights the damaging environmental impact of animal agriculture and encourages people to help by eating less meat

Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 23) next week, Meat Free Monday has released a short film about a huge contributor to climate change that is often left out of conference discussions – animal agriculture.

“There’s a simple but significant way to help protect the planet and all its inhabitants”, says Paul McCartney to camera. “And it starts with just one day a week. One day without eating animal products can have a huge impact in helping maintain that delicate balance that sustains us all.”

With dire consequences for ourselves and future generations, livestock production results in vast amounts of greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. It requires increasingly
unsustainable levels of precious resources including land, water and energy, and is a major contributor towards global environmental degradation and climate change.

The Meat Free Monday campaign has had an incredible response since its launch in 2009, with many of the world’s leading authorities on climate change endorsing meat reduction as an effective
way of fighting global warming.

The campaign’s new film ‘One Day a Week’, largely funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and produced in collaboration with French film director Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s Hope Production,
amplifies this message using the breathtaking aerial photography with which Arthus-Bertrand has become synonymous.

Narrated by Paul McCartney, and with appearances from Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, the film describes how the beauty of the planet only exists through a
delicate balance of climatic conditions – a balance we are dangerously disrupting through our insatiable desire for animal products.

The film uses Paul McCartney’s own music – tracks from his 1997 classical music album Standing Stone, as well as an unreleased song called Botswana.

Meat Free Monday’s aim is to raise awareness and inspire people to make a change in their diets from an easily achievable starting point.
