FALL SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR, SUMMER NORTHEAST & CANADA DATES CONFIRMED

Having returned from a triumphant co-headlining Australia/New Zealand jaunt with NIN, Queens Of The Stone Age have wasted no time in teaming with director Hiro Murai (Childish Gambino, St. Vincent) for the just unveiled cinematic mini-epic for “Smooth Sailing,” the latest single from the hailed, hailed and more hailed international #1 album …Like Clockwork (Matador).

The definitely NSFW “Smooth Sailing” follows QOTSA’s Joshua Homme and cohorts on a delirious adventure that blossoms from garden variety drunken shenanigans to possibly the most nightmarishly accurate live action interpretation of a QOTSA song to date. Seriously, “Smooth Sailing” lends a new meaning to 3-D musical cinema-that is, it turns the 3 D’s into Drinking, Drugs and Death.

And the folks at the Grammys must agree with the critics, nominating …Like Clockwork for Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, plus “My God Is The Sun” for Best Rock Performance. Meanwhile, we weren’t exaggerating about those Best of 2013 notices, which include:

“Homme combines menacing riffs and glammy refinement, sounding like Bowie reborn as a winking dark lord of the underworld… the king of Queens still has the best hard-rock falsetto of his generation.”–ROLLING STONE #6 Best Albums of 2013

#8 Album of 2013–AMAZON

“Queens of the Stone Age¹s sixth album may be their first for an indie label, but they¹re still making huge and bombastic music that sounds like it was built for arenas… a sleazy, strutting vibe that somehow manage to be both knowingly ironic and totally sincere.”–BUZZFEED #20 Album of 2013

#18 Album of 2013–CHICAGO TRIBUNE

“The nightmare carousel grinds back into motion. More real, raw and direct than ever before”–CRAVE #1 Album of 2013

“Josh Homme’s vocals have never sounded better, easily traveling from detached cool to fiery rocker and back again.”–NEWSDAY #8 Album of 2013

“Six years was definitely worth the wait for Queens of the Stone Age fans. Sure .. Like Clockwork is chock full of special guests like Dave Grohl, Elton John, Trent Reznor and Alex Turner among others, but this is one case where the music overshadows the names. ‘My God Is the Sun’ and ‘I Sat by the Ocean’ were released as singles, but … Like Clockwork is a true album listening experience in a singles era and well worth taking in from front to back. … Like Clockwork sits atop
our Top Rock and Metal Albums of 2013.”–NOISECREEP #1 Album of 2013

“For those who still believe rock-and-roll should be slimey, sinister stuff.”–WASHINGTON POST #9 Best Pop Singles of 2013

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE & THE CREATORS PROJECT PRESENT “THE VAMPYRE OF TIME AND MEMORY”

INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE LIVE NOW AT http://www.vampyreoftimeandmemory.com

#VampyreQOTSA

Queens Of The Stone Age and The Creators Project, a partnership between Intel and VICE, have unveiled the interactive video for “The Vampyre Of Time And Memory.” This bold production, directed by Kii Arens and Jason Trucco and designed and developed by Darknet, re-imagines the classic music video in the context of a virtual art installation distinguished by horror, weird beauty, and surrealism, and pushes the boundaries of creative expression. More than that, Joshua Homme and the band’s commanding performance is simply not to be missed.

Experience “The Vampyre Of Time And Memory” here:
http://www.vampyreoftimeandmemory.com

Directors Arens and Trucco commented on co-creating the “Vampyre…” experience with the Queens: “Working on this Queens video was the ultimate artistic joyride. Joshua Homme and company gave us the creative keys to the car from word go… and Josh has a badass car. Vampyre is such a thick track… On the technology side, Darknet was the perfect forward-thinking company to push the boundaries of music video presentation. All art is technology, technology that shares an experience or an idea. Vampyre uses all the tools available to us today to share a meaningful common experience. We’re so proud to be a part of the best rock album in a decade. Long live The Queens!”

In addition to the tri-level interactive video, Arens and Trucco have a offered up a Director’s Cut incorporating elements of all three visual stagings: http://youtu.be/AEIVlYegHx8

“The Vampyre Of Time And Memory,” produced by The Creators Project, is another milestone in a banner year for Queens Of The Stone Age. From the jaw-dropping Boneface animated videos that heralded the release of the band’s international #1 album …Like Clockwork (Matador) to the still-going largest tour in Queens’ history–upcoming gigs include a two-night stand at London’s Wembley Arena and a December 14 headline at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center–2013 has been marked by one triumph after another for the band whose music The New York Times has hailed as “about a man at the border of life and death, with everything at stake, and that’s exactly how it sounds.”

In addition, tomorrow sees the release of …Like Cologne, a three-track EP exclusive to Spotify featuring unique live takes on three QOTSA classics including “Vampyre of Time & Memory.”  …Like Cologne was recorded September 4 at the Kulturkirche in Cologne, Germany.

Also, on November 29, we can all give thanks for the …Like Clockwork BLACK-ON-BLACK Black Friday Edition:  a limited edition high quality black vinyl  pressing of the “mini epic” (PEOPLE) “soundtrack to the B movie of your dreams” (AP) in a blacker sleeve with yet blacker glossy print. The Darth Vader of the vinyl world, only meaner.

Finally, more reason for thanks: Queens Of The Stone Age have submitted to popular demand and extended the life of the …Like Clockwork global touring juggernaut yet again:

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: BRIDGE SCHOOL CONCERT DEBUT CONFIRMED

THE KILLS ADDED TO BARCLAYS CENTER BILL

Photo: Chapman Baehler

Recently and undeniably hailed in ROLLING STONE as one of The 50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will make its historic first Bridge School Concert appearance this year. QOTSA will appear in the all star bill topped by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young at the 27th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA.

Tickets for the Bridge School concerts go on sale Friday, September 13th at 10am at Livenation.com, the Shoreline Amphitheatre box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Joshua Homme and crew’s Bridge School debut is the latest milestone in a 2013 rife with firsts: the still fresh out of the oven …Like Clockwork (Matador) provided QOTSA a first-ever U.S. #1 album, while the band’s world tour has seen its first headline appearances at legendary venues from New York’s Barclays Center to Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater.

QOTSA’s Bridge School set will unveil new dimensions of the …Like Clockwork instant classics that have been garnering the most over the top raves of Homme and crew’s career, presumably alongside exclusive-to-the-evening arrangements of gems spanning the QUEENS’ 15-year odyssey. As reports from the world at large continue to verify, Homme and cohorts Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore are delivering the world’s premiere live rock show nightly on their continually expanding world tour in support of …Like Clockwork. These QUEENS will be the belles of the Bridge School ball and their coming out is guaranteed to be nothing short of momentous.

Meanwhile on the opposite coast: The Kills have been confirmed as special guests for QOTSA’s December 14 extravaganza at Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center. Tickets to the the QOTSA/Kills holiday gala are now on sale at http://bit.ly/qotsaBK.

“Some bands are better than others. Chord by chord, line by line, beat by beat, hook by glorious hook, none is as convincing in 2013 as the Queens of the Stone Age.”–THE LOS ANGELES TIMES

“No prancing, no dancing: just pure cathartic blasts of desert rock.”–ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY “The 15 Biggest Tours”

Rightfully hailed in ROLLING STONE as one of The 50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now and continuing a relentless roll of headline shows at venues from Red Rocks in Colorado to rock n roll’s last stand at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheater, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE has confirmed the biggest east coast play of the epic U.S. run supporting the international #1 album …Like Clockwork (Matador):

On December 14 Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center will be designated as a (relatively) twerk-free-zone as QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE will play its debut headline engagement at the arena, restricting teddy bears to the merch table and returning guitars, drums and other such live instruments to the Barclays stage. The undisputed best rock record of the year,  …Like Clockwork was produced by founder Joshua Homme and QOTSA, recorded by Mark Rankin with additional engineering by Alain Johannes and Justin Smith, at Josh’s studio, Pink Duck, in Burbank, CA. …Like Clockwork is the sixth QOTSA album and the band’s first U.S. #1 album. The record has also hit #1 in Australia, Ireland and Portugal, #2 in the UK, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland and New Zealand,  #3 in Holland and Austria, #4 in Denmark and top 10 in Germany, France, and Spain.  …Like Clockwork is available from iTunes here http://smarturl.it/QOTSAlikeclockwork and Amazon here http://smarturl.it/QOTSAamazon.

“QOTSA’s set was all about that sound, a tight, monolithic, wall of noise… people actually chanted the riff to ‘No One Knows‘ back at them like it was lyrics”–SPIN “Lollapalooza 2013: The Best Things We Saw on Friday”

Having utterly dominated Lollapalooza from an epic pre-festival club gig for an intimate handful of true believers to a blistering Friday mainstage blowout, Queens Of The Stone Age have sicced new single “I Sat By The Ocean” on radio and resumed the global campaign that will take them once more around the world before the close of 2013.

“I Sat By The Ocean” follows in the wake of of the searing “My God Is The Sun” as the latest single from  the undisputed best rock record of the year, Queens Of The Stone Age’s universally acclaimed …Like Clockwork (Matador). Produced by founder Joshua Homme and QOTSA, recorded by Mark Rankin with additional engineering by Alain Johannes and Justin Smith, at Josh’s studio, Pink Duck, in Burbank, CA, …Like Clockwork is the sixth Queens Of The Stone Age album and the band’s first U.S. #1 album. The record has also hit #1 in Australia, Ireland and Portgual, #2 in the UK, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland and New Zealand,  #3 in Holland and Austria, #4 in Denmark and top 10 in Germany, France, and Spain.

More recently, …Like Clockwork was made available in a limited edition USB drive format that sold out instantly.

As reports from Lollapalooza and the world at large continue to verify, Homme and cohorts  Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore are living up …Like Clockwork‘s rave reviews by delivering the world’s premiere live rock show nightly. No surprise then that they are continually expanding the world tour in support of …Like Clockwork. See below for dates and continue to Keep Your Eyes Peeled to http://qotsa.com/live for updates:
