Paul McCartney: New Album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, Out May 29th

Paul McCartney Announces New Album

The Boys of Dungeon Lane

Brand new song – “Days We Left Behind” – Available Now

Album Out May 29th via MPL/Capitol Records – available to pre-order now

The Boys of Dungeon Lane is not only the first new solo album to be released by Paul McCartney in over five years; it is a collection of rare and revealing glimpses into memories never-before shared along with some newly inspired love songs, from one of the most culturally significant figures of our time.

With The Boys of Dungeon Lane, Paul McCartney turns the lens inward, revisiting the formative years that shaped not only his life, but the very foundations of modern popular culture. In a career defined by timeless storytelling and unforgettable characters, Paul now tells the most personal story of all, his own. The Boys of Dungeon Lane is his most introspective album to date and takes the listener back to where it all began.

These extraordinary new songs find Paul in a candid, vulnerable and deeply reflective mood, writing with rare openness about his childhood in post-war Liverpool, the resilience of his parents, and early adventures shared with George Harrison and John Lennon long before the world had ever heard of Beatlemania. These were the years that historians continue to examine, the quiet, unguarded days that unknowingly laid the groundwork for a cultural revolution. Paul visits them not as myths or folklore but as his own memories.

The album takes its title from one of the many standout tracks which is available now, “Days We Left Behind,” a stripped-back and deeply intimate track that captures the emotional core of the project. Dungeon Lane is a place Paul still sees when returning home serving as a symbolic gateway to a pre-fame world: afternoons by the Mersey, birdwatching book in hand, “smoky bars and cheap guitars”, and dreams not yet lived.

Speaking about “Days We Left Behind:” “This is very much a memory song for me. The album title, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, comes from a lyric in this track. I was thinking just that, about the days I left behind and I do often wonder if I’m just writing about the past but then I think how can you write about anything else? It’s just a lot of memories of Liverpool. It involves a bit in the middle about John and Forthlin Road which is the street I used to live in. Dungeon Lane is near there. I used to live in a place called Speke which is quite working class. We didn’t have much at all but it didn’t matter because all the people were great and you didn’t notice you didn’t have much.”

As well as being packed with poignant reflections from an artist whose influence is woven into the fabric of our lives, The Boys of Dungeon Lane also includes new love songs in the inimitable instantly identifiable Paul McCartney style.  A world without Paul McCartney is impossible to imagine, yet here listeners can travel to a world that existed before everything changed, offering memories never previously shared and revealing, with extraordinary honesty, the human story behind a global icon. This is the story before THE story.

About the creation of the album:

The Boys of Dungeon Lane was first brought into existence five years ago when Paul met producer Andrew Watt for a cup of tea and an exchange of ideas. While playing around on the guitar during the meeting, Paul happened upon a chord that even he — the world’s most successful living songwriter — didn’t recognise. Undeterred and driven by his experimental nature, Paul carried on changing one note, then another, until he had a three-chord sequence — which Watt suggested they should record.

This session yielded the album’s opening track, “As You Lie There.” Encouraged by his new producer, Paul would flesh out the new track, playing the majority of instruments – much in the spirit of his 1970 solo debut album, McCartney.  So began the journey of what became Paul’s 18th studio album credited solely to Paul McCartney.

Paul’s packed schedule meant that the album was recorded in tight and efficient sessions between legs of global tour dates spanning five years and alternating between Los Angeles and Sussex. With no record label pressure and no deadline, the pair were able to make the album to their own timeline and satisfaction.Like his career, The Boys of Dungeon Lane is musically eclectic and sees Paul across an array of instruments and styles showcasing his broad musicality. There’s Wings style rock, Beatles style harmonies, McCartney style grooves, understated intimacy, melody driven storytelling, character songs – the common thread being Paul.

7 New US Shows Announced

Tickets On Sale March 27th at pixiesmusic.com

Rounding out a year that marks four decades as one of the most influential forces in modern music, Pixies has announced a series of seven new US dates in September. In addition to the band’s previously announced appearance at the Borderland Music Festival in East Aurora NY, the next American leg will see Pixies on the lineup of this year’s See Hear Now Festival in Asbury Park NJ, and making headline stops in Greenville SC, Wilmington NC, Louisville KY, Columbia MO, Santa Fe NM and Tucson AZ. See below for a full itinerary.

Tickets for these shows will be on sale Friday, March 27th at 10am local time at pixiesmusic.com.

The newly confirmed shows are Pixies’ first series of North American dates since the 2025 tour that moved The Hollywood Reporter to proclaim them “The band that drew the blueprint for alternative rock,” Twin Cities Media to rave “the whole night had that rare ‘yep, this is why we go to shows’ kind of magic,” and the Phoenix New Times to observe “Nearly four decades after making their debut, the band is showing no signs of letting up.”

Pixies’ ninth and most recent album The Night The Zombies Came was released October 25th via BMG, moving the likes of AllMusic to rave “Songs like these uphold Pixies’ brash, eccentric, oddly moving legacy brilliantly, and as a whole, The Night the Zombies Came ranks among their finest post-reunion music.” 2026 is already shaping up to be another incredible year for Pixies —  Charles “Black Francis” Thompson (vocals, guitar), Joey Santiago (guitar), David Lovering (drums) and Emma Richardson (bass, vocals) — who will visit China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, the UK and Europe prior to the newly announced US shows. Marking the 40th anniversary of the band’s 1986 formation and release of the Come On Pilgrim mini-LP, Pixies continues to mark milestones such as “Where Is My Mind?” from 1988’s immortal Surfer Rosa recently surpassing one billion plays on Spotify. The band’s peerless catalog — which includes 1989’s platinum-certified breakthrough DoolittleBossanova (1990), Trompe le Monde (1991), Indie Cindy (2014), Head Carrier (2016), Beneath the Eyrie (2019), Doggerel (2022) and more — continues to grow in stature across successive generations.

FOO FIGHTERS: NEW SINGLE, “CAUGHT IN THE ECHO,” OUT NOW

FOO FIGHTERS

“CAUGHT IN THE ECHO”

NEW SINGLE FROM YOUR FAVORITE TOY

ALBUM OUT APRIL 24th

Listen HERE, Check Out Visualizer HERE  and Pre-Order the Album HERE

“Caught In The Echo,” the third song to be released in advance of Foo Fighters’ forthcoming 12th full-length studio album, Your Favorite Toy, is now available across digital platforms.

Following in the turbulent wake of the album’s postpone-tinged banger of a title track — described by THE NEW YORK TIMES as “back-to-basics garage-rock delivered in a welter of noisy guitars” and moving VICE to rave “Unhinged Dave Grohl is my favorite version of Dave Grohl” — “Caught In The Echo” is the instantly combustible opener that sets the tone for the harnessing of the FF live fury that pervades the album. From its opening exhortation of “Do I? Do I? Do I? Do I?” to its closing plea of “Who can save us now?”, “Caught In The Echo” foreshadows the new album’s rough hewn energy with arguably the band’s most explosive opener since Wasting Light’s “Bridge Burning.”

Your Favorite Toy will be released April 24th via Roswell Records/RCA Records. Recorded at home, the album was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, engineered by Oliver Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent, and consists of the following songs:

Caught In The Echo
Of All People
Window
Your Favorite Toy
If You Only Knew
Spit Shine
Unconditional
Child Actor
Amen, Caveman
Asking For A Friend

Your Favorite Toy’s release heralds Foo Fighters’ massive Take Cover world tour, which just added an already SOLD OUT April 28 show at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT.  For more information on the rock ’n’ roll stadium tour of the summer, go to https://foofighters.lnk.to/ShowsPR

Last but not least, running errands in the San Fernando Valley became a lot more interesting yesterday, as 20 personally burned CDs of “Caught in the Echo,” each featuring individually hand-drawn artwork by Dave and Harper Grohl, were hidden in various locations in the area, ranging from local indie record stores to national grocery, book and pharmacy chains and more. For updates and further information on the “Caught in the Echo” scavenger hunt, check https://www.instagram.com/foofighters/

Foo Fighters are Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour will see the world’s most successful virtual act once again brought to life on these shores by Gorillaz co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, with Albarn joined onstage by the Gorillaz live band and some very special guest performers. Film Still – Credit: Gorillaz

To mark the release of new album The Mountain, out today on the band’s own KONG label, Gorillaz has shared a new eight-minute short film titled The Mountain, The Moon Cave & The Sad God. Directed by Jamie Hewlett and THE LINE studio, the animated epic follows the adventures of band members Noodle, Murdoc, 2D and Russel as they journey across India, while exploring album themes from the journey of life to the thrill of existence. Watch HERE.

The film sees artist and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett return to the purest form of his art to bring a detailed and beautiful intricacy to his distinctive, yet ever-evolving style. Directed by Hewlett, along with Max Taylor and Tim McCourt of BAFTA-nominated London-based animation studio THE LINE, the film was made across 18 months and thousands of artist hours, a hand-crafted homage to the golden era of 2D animation that reimagines Gorillaz through a classic cinematic lens. Hewlett collaborated with THE LINE on a vision to reinterpret Gorillaz through the timeless aesthetic of 1960s animated features. The result is a richly textured short film that honors the animators who paved the way for today’s studios. The process was steered by a determination to honor traditional craftsmanship with a hybrid analogue-digital workflow favoring hand-painted backgrounds, real materials, practical effects and period-accurate limitations over contemporary shortcuts – a true celebration of 2D animation and human creativity.

Circumstances now find Murdoc Niccals, Russel Hobbs, 2D and Noodle in India, having made their way to Mumbai with the help of four fake passports courtesy of a New York business acquaintance of Murdoc. The band has turned its back on international pop stardom, with our heroes now immersed in the rhythms of mystical music-making, as they navigate the mountainous terrain of this thing called life.

We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

North American Tour On Sale Friday, February 27th at 10am local time

Orange County’s finest are back with a vengeance: Social Distortion’s long-awaited eighth album, Born To Kill, will be released May 8, 2026 via Epitaph Records. To pre-order the album and/or hear the hard-charging title track that’s been lighting up crowds at the band’s shows for the last several months, go to https://socialdistortion.ffm.to/borntokill

Born To Kill is more than the conclusion to a 15-year wait between Social Distortion albums, it’s a revelation: 11 songs of pure, unadulterated rock ’n’ roll fury, joy and catharsis, all imbued with the signature blend of defiance and world-weariness that has made founder Mike Ness a poet and sage to the dispossessed for more than 40 years.

The first Social Distortion album since Ness’ recovery from a bout with cancer, Born To Kill brims with aggressive optimism. The album wastes no time letting the listener know where its heart is, with its title track and mission statement dropping nods to Lou Reed (“Rock ’n’ Roll Animal gonna come your way!”) and Iggy and the Stooges (“The agenda is yeah to Search and Destroy”) and an homage to David Bowie (“It’s a Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide”) following a few songs later on “Partners In Crime.” This is a man, a band, and a record that wear their influences proudly while creating timeless anthems and ballads that both chart Social Distortion’s path forward and celebrate its storied past: “Tonight” and “The Way Things Were” are emotionally charged reminiscences in the vein of classics like “Story of My Life” from the band’s eponymous 1990 breakthrough and “I Was Wrong” from 1996’s White Light, White Heat, White Trash, the latter containing a potent distillation of the Social D ethos: “I wrote a song with a stolen riff / If you ain’t got a song you ain’t got shit.”

Co-produced by Ness and Dave Sardy, and featuring guest appearances from Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Lucinda Williams and collaborative cover art by Ness and Shepard Fairey, Born To Kill is the latest installment in a remarkable catalog that spans nearly three generations, including Mommy’s Little Monster (1983), Prison Bound (1988), the RIAA gold-certified Social Distortion (1990) and Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell (1992), White Light, White Heat, White Trash (1996), Sex, Love and Rock ’n’ Roll (2004), and Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes (2011).

As announced yesterday, Social Distortion will support Born To Kill with an extensive North American tour. The tour kicks off August 25 in Phoenix and plays a total of 23 shows in 21 cities before concluding October 3 in San Diego.
