SCORE! Merge Records: The First 20 Years, a deluxe subscription-only box set with special artwork and packaging delivered throughout 2009 will now include a full-length CD of new & exclusive Scharpling and Wurster hilarity in addition to the 14 curated compilations, remix CD, covers CD, the cover art book, and many more surprises to come.

Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster are a renowned comedy duo who have been doing their thing since 1997. Tom is the host of the legendary radio program, “The Best Show on WFMU” Tom is also a writer and executive producer on the award winning television program Monk Jon Wurster is the drummer for Superchunk and many other artists such as A.C. Newman, Bob Mould and The Mountain Goats. Together, Scharpling and Wurster regale the WFMU listeners with comedy genius every Tuesday night from 8-11pm. They have also released five collections of their material on their label, Stereolaffs

Additionally, Broken Social Scene & Lavender Diamond have joined Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, The National and the other great artists already contributing to the Merge covers CD included in the SCORE! box set.

Merge Records: The First 20 Years is a deluxe subscription-only box set featuring 14 Merge compilations curated by the likes of Peter Buck, Amy Poehler, David Byrne, Miranda July and Jonathan Lethem, an entire album of non-Merge artists covering their favorite tracks from the Merge catalogue, a remix collection featuring reinterpretations of Merge classics, MRG, the discography cover art book, and other exclusive content that subscribers will receive in the mail throughout 2009, Merge’s 20th Anniversary year.
