“… gossamer synth patters and swooning romanticism. When lead singer Britt Daniel asks the listener to “Break out of character for me,” the tenderness is almost shocking.” – TIME MAGAZINE

“Inside Out” finds submissive contentment amidst a drift that hints at eternity… the track willingly enters that ether as koi-pond synths twinkle in the distance, its tranquility tempered by the fact that Spoon have never made a song quite this pretty before. – PITCHFORK

“a luxuriant slow-burner with a sweet harp (!) solo, and you should listen.” – STEREOGUM

“Inside Out” goes for the gusto in terms of chill, orchestral electronica, (have those three words ever been used in succession to describe a Spoon song?) “We got nothing else to give cuz time’s gone inside out.” What an intriguing lyric to wind out this song, as we look back upon this band’s rich catalog. – PASTE

It was kismet last Friday when Justin Vernon of Bon Iver released his own haunting version of “Inside Out” from Spoon’s acclaimed album They Want My Soul. Today, four more versions of the song are revealed as Spoon releases an EP of remixes by Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes, Operators, Tycho and Brian Reitzell. The four track EP is available via digital retailers April 28.

You can check out Fabrizio Moretti’s remix right here, right now: https://vimeo.com/115992482

You can also listen to Spoon’s demo for “Inside Out”, which premiered at Song Exploder. Check it out here. Previously, Spoon discussed the making of the song on an episode of the Song Exploder podcast, archived here for your listening pleasure.

If this didn’t satisfy any lingering Spoon cravings, take a listen to Britt Daniel’s appearance on WTF With Marc Maron, as he delves into his childhood in Temple, TX, young love and heartbreak, and The Cure: http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episodes/episode_594_-_britt_daniel_jon_ronson

Last, but not least, Spoon are on tour in May and June to play songs from their storied catalogue as well as to work on some new material. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live. Full list of tour dates below.
