In anticipation of his first-ever North American solo tour and the physical CD release of Matador, Gaz Coombes is pleased to unveil the live video for the title track to his Mercury Prize-nominated album.
The video features a minimalistic yet compelling performance of “Matador” by Coombes, Ben Walker, Garo Nahoulakian, Loz Colbert (Ride), Nick ‘Growler’ Fowler and the stunning 32-member Southbank’s Voicelab choir backing Coombes, and was recorded live at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall of February 2015. The song, which The Line of Best Fit declares as a “moving song of defiance, a tear jerker that’s also heart-warming,” is featured as the closing track on the album. To commemorate the upcoming tour, Matador will be receiving a special US limited edition colored vinyl edition release, which includes two exclusive bonus tracks not previously available: “Oscillate (Solo) Live from Galway” and “Detroit (Solo) Live from Brighton.” Fans can grab their pre-orders NOW for both the limited edition vinyl and standard CD formats.
