RYAN ADAMS: PRISONER DEBUTS AT #3 ON U.S. ALBUM CHART

RYAN ADAMS

PRISONER DEBUTS AT #3 ON U.S. ALBUM CHART
TOUR ADDING DATES DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND:

Second St. Paul Show Confirmed for July 28

Second Dublin Show Confirmed for September 12

Continuing the unstoppable momentum building through its February 17 release on PAX AM/Blue Note Records, Ryan Adams’ Prisoner has debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top Album chart, #1 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart and #8 on the Top-200, while new shows are being added to the Prisoner Tour to accommodate popular demand.

With July 29’s headline at the Palace Theater in St. Paul MN having sold out, a second night has been confirmed for July 28. Pre-sales for the new St. Paul date—as well as the previously announced June 28 show at Seattle’s Paramount Theater—begin Wednesday, March 1 at 9am local time. Tickets for both Seattle and the new St. Paul date are on sale to the general public Friday, March 3 at 10am local time.

Additionally, Ryan and the band will play a second show at the Olympia Theater in Dublin, Ireland on September 12.

In addition to the top 10 chart debuts, critical reaction to Prisoner has been among the best of Adams’s career, with a chorus of raves from NEW YORK MAGAZINE, ROLLING STONE, ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND and the ASSOCIATED PRESS hailing the album as the multiple Grammy nominee’s best in 10 years or more, including:

“Even when his lyrics cling to loss, Adams lets in light with melody. A songwriter with that kind of talent is never a bummer.”—PEOPLE

“He sounds like he’s savoring how full of life his music is, no matter what it took to make it so. He hasn’t just turned misery into art; he’s turned it into joy.”—The AV CLUB

“As compact and fearless as Adams’s vulnerability… one of Adams’s finest and boldest works… one of his most inspired records”—FLOOD

“powerful stuff… a beautiful sounding collection, no question.”—PASTE
