HUMANZ OUT APRIL 28th ON WARNER BROS.

Gorillaz continue to keep the surprises coming with an incredibly momentous week commemorating their highly anticipated new album Humanz—out April 28th on Warner Bros.

After unveiling the immersive fan experience of their augmented reality pop-up Spirit House in Brooklyn, Gorillaz have gone a step further in bringing Humanz to the world by hosting the virtual Humanz House Party. From Friday April 21st at 11am EST until end of Sunday April 23rd, those keen enough to download the Gorillaz app (Apple or Android) will be able to go to specific locations and walk through the Spirit House as they hear the new album before its release on a continuous loop. This will be the first opportunity for fans to hear Humanz in full. While those in NYC and Los Angeles can head to Bryant Park or Silver Lake Meadow for the unique experience, a full list of all participating cities and locations will be revealed within the Gorillaz Apphttp://gorillaz.com and Gorillaz Facebook.

To kick off the actual week of release for Humanz, Gorillaz has announced an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime close-up performance at Rough Trade NYC (located in Brooklyn) on Tuesday, April 25th—doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. To be one of the lucky few to score a ticket, stop by Rough Trade NYC April 25th and pre-order the album to receive a wristband for entry to the show (limit one per person, wristbands will be placed on at time of purchase).

As an extension of the Sonos and Gorillaz Spirit House, Gorillaz will also unveil an exclusive installation of Jamie Hewlett’s original artwork at the Sonos flagship store at 101 Greene Street in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. The custom installation will be on display starting April 26th, and will feature a selection of Gorillaz artwork carefully created and curated by Hewlett from his personal archive.

If that’s not enough Gorillaz, never fear! Tune in to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on April 27th to catch an extraordinary appearance of the band featuring Damon Albarn, Seye Adelekan, Jesse Hackett, Mike Smith, Karl Vanden Bossche, Gabriel Wallace, Jeff Wooton PLUS several special guests.

And the global fascination for Gorillaz will continue when Humanz takes to the road this summer–with special pop-up guest appearances from many more of the album’s featured artists, drawing from a stellar lineup including Jehnny Beth (Savages), Danny Brown, Benjamin Clementine, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Peven Everett, Anthony Hamilton, Grace Jones, Zebra Katz, Kelela, Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Popcaan, Pusha T, Jamie Principle and Kali Uchis, among others. Tickets available at http://gorillaz.com/tour.
