“Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way (Beck Remix)”

LISTEN HERE: https://u2.lnk.to/BeckRmxPR

Beck has reunited with U2 to remix another track from the band’s international #1 album, Songs of Experience (Interscope). This time, current single “Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way” gets the Beck remix treatment, as the GRAMMY Album of the Year winning musician pulls from his palette of sonic colors to emphasize the organic foundations underpinning its soaring harmonies.

“Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way” comes from the critically acclaimed, Songs Of Experience, called “Their best album in years” by USA Today and “a remarkable accomplishment for a band in its fifth decade of existence” by Variety.

Beck previously collaborated with U2 on an exclusive remix of “Lights of Home (Free Yourself/Beck Remix),” released to mark Record Store Day earlier this year. Prior to the release of his critically acclaimed Colors (Capitol), Beck supported U2 on the final U.S. leg of last year’s #1 grossing tour, The Joshua Tree Tour 2017.

U2 is currently in the midst of the groundbreaking eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour, whose May 2nddebut in Tulsa, OK moved Rolling Stone to rave “after this incredible opening night almost anything feels possible.” During the tour’s swing through Nashville, U2 became the first act in the history of Jack White’s Third Man Records to record a single directly to acetate: a stripped-down acoustic version of “Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way,” to be released by Third Man Records on limited edition vinyl. Details to be announced soon.

AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY ON APPLE MUSIC

PREVIEW NOW: https://youtu.be/JQKZGziMOoI

All the Colors. See the Colors. Feel the Colors… on a kaleidoscopic audiovisual voyage with Beck as your guide. Available exclusively at apple.co/ColorsMusicVideo, “Colors” is the dazzling new video directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, The Cornetto Trilogy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), that brings the title track of Beck’s current album to vivid multi-hued life, aided and abetted by kinetic choreography by Ryan Heffington. Beck and Wright’s collaboration on the “Colors” video has resulted in something completely alien yet strangely familiar, as if an extraterrestrial culture had accidentally intercepted a transmission of a Busby Berkeley film—and chosen to create their own sequel.

Apple Music is home to the best music video-watching experience available anywhere — all ad-free. Starting right now, fans can enjoy “Colors” and other amazing Beck music videos on Apple Music at http://applemusic.com/musicvideos.

“Colors” is both the namesake and mission statement of Beck’s 13th album (and sixth to crack the U.S. Top 10), released October 13, 2017 by Capitol Records (and streamed 212 million times since). Following up 2015 GRAMMY Album of the Year winner Morning Phase and featuring “Dreams,” “Wow,” “Dear Life” and “Up All Night” (Beck’s third Billboard Alternative #1), Colors has been hailed as “yet another milestone” (WALL STREET JOURNAL),  “a euphoric blast” (USA TODAY) and a  “classic, sneakily inventive, massively catchy” (AV CLUB) album  “that proves that Beck is still one of rock’s most intrepid inventors” (ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY).

“Colors” is directed by Edgar Wright and choreographed by Ryan Heffington. The video was produced by Bridgitte Pugh and executive produced by Nina Soriano for Anonymous Content.

BECK: “FIX ME” VIDEO PREMIERE FROM NEW ALBUM COLORS AVAILABLE NOW

BECK

“FIX ME”

VIDEO PREMIERE FROM NEW ALBUM COLORS AVAILABLE NOW

DIRECTED BY BROOK LINDER

PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ASPCA®

www.aspca.org/helpanimals

“Delicate dreaminess and longing…it’s the highlight of the whole record.”—PASTE

“A gorgeously melancholy mood piece”—AV CLUB

Following this morning’s sneak peek premiere on BuzzFeed, Beck and co-stars Mame, Riku, Gaku and Qoo—follow them on Instagram at @tamanegi.qoo.riku—have proudly unveiled the wonderfully whimsical, dare we say Instagrammable, video for “Fix Me,” from his new album Colors (Capitol Records).

Set in the otherworldly hills of Yamagata, Japan, the video for “Fix Me” is a tender look into the world of Mame and her canine guardians, featuring scenes that oscillate from highly stylized and costumed tableaus to carefree games of frisbee and feasting on birthday cake.

Director Brook Linder commented on the unique experience of making the video: “There’s something really special happening in the mountains of Yamagata, and we were lucky enough to enter Mame’s world for two afternoons in November. That home is heaven on Earth. One of the dogs, Qoo, and I had a special connection —I think he’s my great-grandfather reincarnated… or something. He looked into my soul.”

For the video’s release, Beck has partnered with the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) to enable fans to make an easy charitable donation—simply visit www.aspca.org/helpanimals or watch the video here to help make a difference today.

“Fix Me” is the cool down closer of Beck’s 13th album Colors, hailed as “a euphoric blast of experimental pop… fresh and essential” by Rolling Stone, and more recently becoming a fixture of Best of 2017 lists including Rolling Stone, KCRW, Q, ABC, NME, Mojo and more. Colors has been holding strong in the charts since its top 3 debut in October 2017, currently buoyed by the #1 alternative single “Up All Night” and its epic video, the latter nominated in the Best Music Video category of the 60th annual Grammy Awards taking place Sunday, January 28.

Already being hailed in early reviews as “a euphoric blast of experimental pop” (ROLLING STONE) and “yet another milestone in his fascinating and unpredictable career” (THE WALL STREET JOURNAL), Beck’s lucky 13th album Colors is released today on Capitol Records.

The album’s release is accompanied by the “Colors” slime visualizer—a multicolor visual expression of the title track/mission statement of the album: a kaleidoscopic palette of sonic shapes and moods, conjuring mental rainbows while tempos, rhythms, melodies, even volume levels shift to near collapse, before locking together into undeniable hooks that defy their underlying complexity.

Colors’ release was preceded most recently by the buoyant “Up All Night”—check out Beck performing it on Later… with Jools Holland earlier this week —the current single from Beck’s first full length offering of new material since 2014’s Morning Phase took Album of the Year top honors at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

Colors was produced by Greg Kurstin and Beck, with the exception of “Wow” produced by Beck and Cole M.G.N., and “Fix Me” produced by Beck. The album was mixed by Serban Ghenea, except “Dreams” and “Up All Night,” which were mixed by Greg Kurstin and Beck.

Colors‘ release weekend will also be commemorated with one-time-only dedicated pop-up stores featuring exclusive merchandise, music and more. The Colors pop-up store locations and times are as follows:

Saturday October 14:

BECK

“Up All Night”

NEWEST TRACK & EPIC VIDEO FROM COLORS

FOLLOW UP TO GRAMMY ALBUM OF THE YEAR MORNING PHASE OUT OCTOBER 13

Pre-Order Live Now

Beck has issued an anthemic call to arms–and legs–with “Up All Night,” the irresistible new single and epic video one-two salvo in advance of his imminent 13th album and “euphoric blast of experimental pop” (ROLLING STONE), Colors – due out October 13 on Capitol Records.

In keeping with the life-affirming spirit and groove of the song itself, the sweeping cinematic arc created by Director Canada, Executive Producer Oscar Romagosa and Producer Laura Serra Estorch features a narrative of triumph over hallucinogenic adversity. “Up All Night” tracks its fearless heroine (Solene Rigot) through an increasingly bizarre series of trials as she races against the sun-and at times the very rules of reality-to rescue a fallen friend (Pedro Attenborough).

Having appeared in an earlier incarnation on the EA SPORTS FIFA 17 soundtrack, the buoyant “Up All Night” is the newest advance taste of the most aptly titled work in Beck’s storied discography. Beck’s first full length offering of new material since 2014’s Morning Phase took Album of the Year top honors at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, Colors unfolds in an intoxicating rainbow of auditory tricks and treats, making it a shoo-in for the summeriest smash of the fall season. Prior to “Up All Night,” the album’s most recent single was the captivating piano-driven “Dear Life,” released August 24 and eliciting Beatles and Beach Boys comparisons from THE NEW YORK TIMES amongst a slew of generation spanning critical raves including:
“‘Dear Life’ makes good on Beck’s promise, with waltzing pianos, a killer guitar riff, and am immediately memorable chorus.”–ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

“Leave it to Beck to craft a sunny, upbeat pop song that doubles as a scream into the void… the kaleidoscopic new single from his forthcoming album, Colors, has something for partiers and wallflowers alike… when Beck asks on the buoyant chorus about the thrill being gone, the answer is: not yet-not in his career, not in this life-affirming song.”–PITCHFORK

“Fans of Beck will have even more to love in the perennial hitmaker’s latest… a dark pop-rock sound that hints at influences from everyone from The Beatles to Spoon.”–TIME 5 Songs You Need To Listen To This Week

Following its surprise premiere on KCRW yesterday morning, the remix of Beck’s smash Day-Glo psych hop anthem “Wow” by Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA is now available to stream and download across digital platforms:

http://smarturl.it/WowTokimonsta
YouTube

The “Wow (TOKiMONSTA Remix)” adds yet another dimension to Beck’s “outrageous pop anthem” (ROLLING STONE) and its “kaleidoscopic chorus” (USA TODAY), as did last month’s mind-bending video directed by Beck and Grady Hall.

In that time, the original “Wow” single and its video have racked up listens and views in the cumulative tens of millions, with digital track sales in the hundreds of thousands and a spot in the top 100 songs sought out on Shazam this week.

“Wow” follows last year’s summer smash “Dreams” as the second single from Beck’s forthcoming 13th album, his first full length studio effort since 2014’s Album of the Year GRAMMY winner Morning Phase (Capitol).

MULTI-GRAMMY-WINNING MASTERPIECE ODELAY
CELEBRATES 20th ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR

42658_02_Beck_Gatefold.indd

Los Angeles, CA – September 20, 2016  – Since introducing himself to the world in 1994 with his genre-defying, multi-platinum debut, Mellow Gold, Beck has blazed a path into the future while simultaneously foraging through the past. Throughout his singular career he has utilized all manners and eras of music, blurring boundaries and shattering expectations with each album. From the world-tripping atmospherics of 1998’s Mutations and the florescent funk of 1999’s Midnite Vultures through the somber reflections of 2002’s Sea Change, 2005’s platinum tour de force Guero and 2006’s sprawling The Information, no Beck record has ever sounded like its predecessor.

This fall, UMe will begin to reissue Beck’s entire envelope-pushing DGC/Geffen/Interscope catalog on vinyl, beginning on October 28 with the trifecta of his 1996 GRAMMY® Award-winning single LP game-changer, Odelay, 2002’s beautiful, brokenhearted, Sea Change, and 2005’s Guero, which saw Beck reunite with the Dust Brothers. Sea Change will be released as a double LP while Guero will be made available for the first time ever as a single LP. Mellow Gold, Mutations, Midnight Vultures, The Information and Modern Guilt will be announced at a later date. Pre-order: Odelay, Sea Change, Guero.

Originally released 20 years ago on June 18, 1996 on DGC, Odelay was Beck’s breakthrough follow-up to his platinum bow, Mellow Gold. Selling more than two million copies in the U.S., the double-platinum-certified Odelay featured classics that loom large in Beck’s live sets to this day, including “Where It’s At,” “Devils Haircut” and “The New Pollution.” Odelay won two GRAMMY® Awards in 1997, Best Alternative Music Album and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for “Where It’s At,” and was Beck’s first album to be nominated for Album of the Year—the top honor his most recent album Morning Phase took home last year. Produced by Beck with collaborators the Dust Brothers, Mario Caldato Jr., Brian Paulson, Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf, Odelay continued to demonstrate and expand upon Beck’s eclectic stylistic palette. It was universally praised upon its release, named Album of the Year in both Rolling Stone and the prestigious Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics’ poll, as well as the U.K. New Musical Express’ critics’ poll, where the album represented Beck’s platinum breakthrough in England. In 1998, Q magazine readers voted Odelay one of the greatest albums of all time, while Rolling Stone ranked it in its 2003 list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time,” and #9 on its list of the “100 Best Albums of the ‘90s.”

Pre-order Odelay: https://UMe.lnk.to/ BeckOdelayLP

Beck’s seventh album, Sea Change, signified a dramatic musical shift in sound and tone from its predecessor, the funky, R&B-influenced Midnite Vultures, and as its title suggested, was a profound transformation. Inspired by the dissolution of a longtime relationship, Beck transformed his sadness into both his most personal and beautiful record to date, trading his trademark sample-filled songs and impressionistic, irreverent lyrics for pensive melodies, sweeping strings and direct, confessional lyrics. Produced by Nigel Godrich, the album, which peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200, was made with a full band which included guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboard player Roger Manning, drummer Joey Waronker; Beck’s father, David Campbell, provided string arrangements. While widely praised upon release in 2002, the album has only grown in stature. Rolling Stone’s David Fricke hailed it as “the best album Beck has ever made,” adding it’s his “Blood On The Tracks,” and the record was listed in their 2009 definitive list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and the “100 Best Albums of the 2000s.” In SPIN’s 10-year anniversary piece, they declared it “the best melancholy album of the millennium” while The Guardiancalled it “his masterpiece.” The album will be released as a double LP with a download card featuring 320kbps AAC MP4 audio files of the entire album.

Pre-order Sea Change: https://UMe.lnk.to/ BeckSeaChangeLP

Beck kept fans and critics guessing about how he’d follow up Sea Change and in 2005 released the genre-mashing Guero which shot to #2 on the Billboard Top 200–his highest charting album to date. Beck’s eighth album saw him reuniting with the Dust Brothers with an assist from producer Tony Hoffer (Midnite Vultures), for a tour de force of Latin rhythms, rhymes, guitars, beats, samples, 8-bit electronics, turntables and vocoder for a fun and freewheeling ride through rock, hip-hop, boss nova, country-blues and soul. Album opener and lead single, “E-Pro” went to No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart, while “Girl,” “Hell Yes,” “Go It Alone” (featuring Jack White on bass) and more became instant fan favorites. The album was a hit with critics as well with New York magazine enthusing, “Beck integrates his personae into a fairly seamless whole, and his knack for synthesizing disparate musical elements (hip-hop, robot funk, blues, country, jazz, garage rock, etc.) extends beyond samples and individual tracks. The songs migrate smoothly from one to the next; there aren’t any throwaway numbers to sabotage the album’s momentum; the whole thing coheres,” while Rolling Stone dubbed it “his liveliest and jumpiest music in years.”

BECK
“WOW” VIDEO
BECK & GRADY HALL CO-DIRECT & COLLABORATE WITH COLLECTIVE OF ARTISTS TO CREATE “WOW” DREAMSCAPE
LIVE NOW ON VEVO AND YOUTUBE

wow_3

“Wow,” the utterly infectious Beck single that’s been streamed more than 20 million times worldwide since its June 2 release and hailed as “an outrageous pop anthem” (ROLLING STONE) with “a kaleidoscopic chorus” (USA TODAY), now has a visual manifestation. With help from the collective of visual artists that heralded the song’s June 2nd arrival, co-directors Beck and Grady Hall have built a mesmerizing “Wow” world: one that alternates between Beck busting his sweetest signature moves and the adventures of surrealist cowboys, sentient floral arrangements and other imagination-stretching imagery. Artist contributors to the “Wow” video are Sam Cannon, Randy Cano, Andy Gregg, David McLeodJohn McLaughlin, Jess Rona, and Steve Smith.

The stunning “Wow” clip adds further dimensions to what began in June as the first ever Instagram Explore feature song premiere. Dozens of Instagram artist visuals set to snippets of the new single received a combined 6 million views—plus 1.6 million views on @Instagram/@Music posts. The clips continue to live on the official @beck Instagram and Beck.com.

”The cumulative effect of viewing images on Instagram and other places online was an influence,” Beck said at the time. “Now you can scroll through the most disparate, diverse and fascinating images in the span of minutes. It’s a new form of experiencing visual media. The infinite amount of stuff out there is overwhelming and inspiring in the way that you have a form of expression that is alive and changing every second. Unlike a book or a film, it is continuously flowing, changing and is non-linear.”

In addition to heading out on a September 15-24 mini-tour, Beck is currently putting finishing touches on his forthcoming follow-up to last year’s Album of the Year GRAMMY winner Morning Phase. Co-produced by his Sea Change-era bandmate Greg Kurstin and Beck and to be released on Capitol Records, Beck’s 13th studio opus will feature both “Wow” and last year’s summer smash “Dreams.”
