SOUND CITY PLAYERS’ LIVE DEBUT SELLS OUT IN MINUTES

The January 18 debut live performance of Dave Grohl’s SOUND CITY PLAYERS at Park City Live in Park City, UT, has unsurprisingly sold out within minutes of going on sale yesterday.

Assembled to play the music created for the Grohl-directed SOUND CITY documentary and its accompanying SOUND CITY–REAL TO REEL album–as well as classics spanning their storied careers–this first incarnation of the SOUND CITY PLAYERS will feature Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, Lee Ving of Fear, Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Alain Johannes, Chris Goss and more joining Grohl and a cast of his current and former bandmates including Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Krist Novoselic, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and other familiar faces for a historic evening.

The SOUND CITY PLAYERS’ first show will commemorate the Sundance premiere of SOUND CITY, taking place 2:30 that day at the Marc Theater in Park City. The official SOUND CITY trailer can be seen at http://soundcitymovie.com, where the film can be pre-ordered directly from the director himself in advance of its February 1 release.

The film’s soundtrack, SOUND CITY–REAL TO REEL, will be released March 12 on Roswell/RCA and is currently available for pre-order at http://bit.ly/SoundCityiTunes, with all pre-orders instantly receiving first single “Cut Me Some Slack”–performed by Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear.

Future SOUND CITY PLAYERS lineups and dates will be announced as they are confirmed.
