“a triumphant return… a rare pleasure”—ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

“The record’s beauty approaches slowly, floats, surrounds and shuts off external awareness in the brain stem.”—THE NEW YORK TIMES

“gracefully, gradually unfolds like the sweetest of sunrises”—PEOPLE

“an instant folk-rock classic… Morning Phase’s struggle toward the light feels as personal as it does universal.”—ROLLING STONE

“a companion to 2002’s Sea Change… Morning Phase conjures the cosmic folk and poetic beauty of that breakup breakthrough with even better results… The mercurial artist has drifted through a variety of intriguing phases, but none as hypnotic or revealing as Morning Phase.”—USA TODAY

Beck’s Morning Phase (Capitol) has entered the US albums chart at #3, selling over 87,000 copies in the week since its February 25 release.

Morning Phase‘s first week tally bests the 84,314 opening week of Beck’s previous album, Modern Guilt, despite the market being down over 70% since that record’s 2008 release.

Morning Phase also debuted #2 in Canada, #4 in the UK, #5 in Australia, Switzerland and The Netherlands, and #8 in New Zealand–all representing Beck’s highest chart positions ever in each country, with the exception of Canada where Morning Phase ties the #2 peak position of 2005’s Guero.

Beck will follow up last week’s triumphant return to Saturday Night Live where he debuted “Blue Moon” and “Wave” on national television with a March 12 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and an April 1 performance on The Ellen Degeneres Show.
