“The former Sugar and Hüsker Dü frontman sounds fully invigorated here…Mould rips through 12 bristling guitar-pop tracks that, at their propulsive and tuneful best, recall the classic eras of his much-loved former bands.” – ROLLING STONE

“It doesn’t feel like a stretch to say Beauty & Ruin scrapes the same eight-miles-high stratosphere as his best work with Hüsker Dü, Sugar, and under his own name…vital music from a living legend – a master class in the sort of gleaming, guitar-powered alt-rock that Mould helped to invent.” – STEREOGUM

Bob Mould’s forthcoming studio album, Beauty & Ruin, can now be streamed in its entirety via Pitchfork Advance. The album stream comes one week ahead of Beauty & Ruin‘s June 3 release on Merge Records. Pre-orders for the album already being hailed as possibly Bob’s finest solo work since the classic Workbook are live now on Merge’s website and iTunes. The first 400 LP pre-orders placed through Merge will receive the album on yellow vinyl. All iTunes pre-orders come with an instant gratification download of “Hey Mr. Grey”.

Bob Mould is also pleased to confirm a release week performance on CONAN. Bob will be the featured musical guest on the Wednesday, June 4 airing of the late night TV series. CONAN airs at 11pm EST on TBS.

Additional happenings surrounding the release of Beauty & Ruin include multiple broadcasts of “See a Little Light” on Palladia throughout June. “See a Little Light” documents the November 2011 tribute to Bob at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, where many of today’s most influential artists gathered to celebrate Bob’s legendary canon. Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Britt Daniel (Spoon), Ryan Adams, No Age, Craig Finn and Tad Kubler (The Hold Steady), Margaret Cho with Grant Lee Phillips, and Jessica Dobson (The Shins, Deep Sea Diver) all performed classic compositions from the Hüsker Dü, Sugar and Bob Mould solo catalogues. Fortunately, the entire evening was captured in stunning audio and high-quality video quality by filmmaker Justin Mitchell. Specific air dates and times below.

Take a listen to Bob Mould (and Fred Armisen who can teach us all how to do a mean Bob Mould impression) on Margaret Cho’s podcast “Monsters Of Talk” HERE.

Sirius XMU will also air a two hour special celebrating Bob’s history and influence. This will take place on Sunday, June 1 at 9pm EST.
