Lil BUB EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH RYAN HERE

In an exclusive interview with the world’s foremost feline talk show host Lil BUB, pinball, comic book, black metal and hardcore enthusiast and multiple-Grammy-nominee-and-zero-winner Ryan Adams confirmed details of his first album of all new original material since 2014’s Ryan Adams.

During the intimate and revealing interview – which can be seen here – Adams divulged that the album, titled Prisoner, will be released February 17 on Pax-Am/Blue Note, and previewed and discussed snippets (or “sniplets”) of new tracks including first single “Do You Still Love Me?” which is available today for purchase and as an instant grat with all pre-orders.

“I was reflecting on the different states of desire and what it means to be a prisoner of your own desire,” Adams told BUB of the new record’s title, later adding, “I felt like I had been robbed of… the most valuable thing in a person’s life… Time.”

The twelve tracks that make up Prisoner came to Adams over a prolific period stretching back as far as the week his 2014 self-titled album entered the U.S. album chart at a career high of #4. During that run, Adams toured the world, recorded and released both his Live at Carnegie Hall collection and full-album cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989, and saw the aforementioned Ryan Adams garner two Grammy nominations – Best Rock Song for “Gimme Something Good” and Best Rock Album – while “Gimme Something Good” became the first vinyl single to go #1 at the Amazon music store.

And somehow during this two-year-plus whirlwind, Adams contends Prisoner virtually wrote itself. As he told Lil BUB, “Whatever was going on in me was strong enough that I only had to sit down and this stuff just made itself known.”

Ryan Adams’ Prisoner track listing is below. The album will be available February 17, 2017 in formats including: standard digital, HD digital, 180G vinyl, CD, limited edition red vinyl at indie record stores, and a limited edition exclusive cover at Barnes and Noble. “Do You Still Love Me?” can be streamed here.

“A dynamic trip across the rock spectrum” – ROLLING STONE

“Some of Hawkins’ most vivid songwriting yet” – ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

Fresh off the presses, Taylor Hawkins proudly unleashes KOTA – his first ever album released under his own name, available NOW:

Amazon: http://smarturl.it/ KOTAamzn
Apple Music: http://smarturl.it/ KOTAapplem
iTunes: http://smarturl.it/ KOTAiTunes
Spotify: spoti.fi/2fjMTJb

Listeners were given a scorching preview ahead of KOTA’s release with first single “Range Rover Bitch,” hotly praised as “a dynamic trip across the rock spectrum…a blistering punk burst” (ROLLING STONE) and a “revved-up old-school riff-heavy pow-popper” (STEREOGUM).

Whatever KOTA means, the six-song mini-LP takes off like Queen on a skateboard, featuring Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument, with help from a few comrades in arms. From the hypnotic groove of opener “Range Rover Bitch” through the closing rave-up “I’ve Got Some Not Being Around You To Do Today,” KOTA mixes Hawkins’ chops and influences with a true-to-life cast of characters to create a meditation on life as a rockstar stranded in the suburbs. It’s a short, sweet series of vignettes, but one that still strives to honor the tradition of Blur’s Parklife and The Kinks’ Are The Village Green Preservation Society.

BOB MOULD TEARS UP LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY,
KICKS OFF FINAL RUN OF 2016 U.S. DATES NOVEMBER 5

On November 5th, Bob Mould will be kicking off his last run of tour dates on what has been a rip-roaring series of shows in support of his album Patch The Sky (Merge). From headline sets at packed clubs to a recent main stage set before tens of thousands at Riot Fest Chicago, critical and popular response to Bob’s recent live shows has consistently matched the energy and vitality put forth on each and every performance:

“The guitarist spun his bearish frame on one foot, as if being knocked around by the hurricane force of his solos. The notes poured out in thick, hyperspeed flurries. His attack conjured a 10-car pileup of tones and overtones, an orchestra of reverberation. There were two speeds –- fast and fastest -– as the bespectacled 55-year-old blended the blast-furnace intensity of hardcore with classic pop hooks.” – CHICAGO TRIBUNE

“Mould had his amp cranked up loud and ripped more than a few sick leads when he wasn’t on the mic.” – LA RECORD

“Bob Mould and his crack-backing band attacked everything at full velocity, making it all sound like the work of a scrappy basement punk band determined to break through and conquer the world…Mould is on a hell of a run in both the studio and on the stage at the moment. His song craft and energy shame most younger acts and most of his veteran peers. – STEREOGUM

While in Los Angeles for his debut performance at The Hollywood Bowl, Bob and longtime band members bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster filmed an episode for “Last Call With Carson Daly” at The Echoplex. Watch their high-octane performances of “Black Confetti” and “The Descent”.

The band were last in North America in 2014 with critical response being best described as ‘blown away en masse’:

“Visions of murder, catastrophe, transfiguration and desperate love issued from the stage, set to dirges, stomps and inexorable crescendos.” – NEW YORK TIMES

“Right up there amongst the best frontmen of this or any generation. No one on the circuit can both command and terrify a crowd quite like Nick Cave.” – DALLAS OBSERVER

“Thanks, Nick Cave, for ruining pretty much every other show we’re going to see for the rest of the month. Or year. Or ever. There’s no way anybody is going to top what we saw on Saturday night… it was a mind-blowing evening of rock ‘n’ roll.” – NASHVILLE SCENE

“Towering over everyone else, however, were… the Bad Seeds, whose merciless performance, delivered with the fury of hellhounds unleashed, easily stole Sunday from any up-and-comers…” – OC REGISTER

September saw the release of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ 16th studio album ‘Skeleton Tree’ and the companion film ‘One More Time With Feeling’ directed by Andrew Dominik. The theatrical success of the film was such that a second run is now confirmed nationwide starting December 1 (Tickets available for purchase at nickcave.com). ‘Skeleton Tree’ topped the chart across the globe and achieved the bands highest US chart position to date. On Saturday, October 29, Austin City Limits TV will air a once in lifetime performance by the immortal Iggy Pop backed by the crack outfit led by Joshua Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age. This chance to witness one of the barely two dozen shows supporting Iggy’s wildly acclaimed Post Pop Depression (Rekords Rekords/Loma Vista/Caroline International) should not be missed. Accompanied by Post Pop Depressionco-creator Homme and his A-Team of his Queens Of The Stone Age cohorts Dean Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen, Matt Helders of Arctic Monkeys and journeyman bassist/guitarist/producer Matt Sweeney, Iggy rages through a once in a lifetime set  focused almost entirely on the new album and his two 1977 David Bowie-produced classics, The Idiot and Lust For Life.

The day before the ACL TV broadcast, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release the UK Music Video Award-Winning Post Pop Depression: Live At The Royal Albert Hall on DVD, Blu-ray, DVD+2CD and Digital. This film captures the penultimate performance of the historic limited run of Post Pop Depression shows as Iggy, Homme and crew peeling the paint off the bones of one of the world’s most prestigious venues with an utterly electrifying performance. Reaction to the show was equally over the top from the crowd (as seen in the video) as from the UK media: The Independent hailed the show as “as downright brilliant a rock n roll show as it is possible to see, the NME called it “one of the most memorable gigs of the year… the performance of a lifetime,” and the Guardian raved “a five-star spectacle that proves just how peerless Iggy Pop is.” That unforgettable evening’s performance of Lust For Life classic “The Passenger” can be viewed at:

Post Pop Depression: Live At The Royal Albert Hall will also be available as triple vinyl concert album, out February 10, 2017 via Rekords Rekords/Loma Vista/Caroline International.

Post Pop Depression is equal parts a dream come true for co-creator Homme as it is a record that defiantly takes its place in Iggy’s storied discography alongside the twin towers of The Idiot and Lust For Life–two records and the mythic Berlin era of their creation canonized as much lyrically (“German Days”) as sonically (“Sunday“) on this new record. The album is a singular work that bears its creators’ undeniable sonic DNA while sounding like nothing they’ve done before. Entering the U.S. chart at #17, Post Pop Depression instantly became the highest U.S. charting album of Iggy’s storied and tumultuous career—an all-too-rare instance of commercial reception to one of Iggy’s finest works matching an enthusiastic critical response that included:

“Post Pop Depression runs the gamut from quiet introspection to brash rebellion — and stands tall as some of Pop’s most essential work in years.” – ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

“There exists nobody on Earth quite like Iggy Pop, and his great new album is further proof.” — NEW YORK

“Picks up where Lust for Life left off… At once brutally effective and utterly clear: a crystalline hammer.” — THE NEW YORK TIMES

“Iggy in finer form than ever and Homme’s distinctive driving guitar melodies firmly anchoring his florid vocals. Basically: it’s shit hot stuff” — NOISEY

“The 68-year-old proto-punk icon will not be stopped… Awesomely gnarled” — ROLLING STONE

“A legendary rock n roll character like no other… one of the most vital and engaged works of his career” — TIME

DAVID BOWIE “KILLING A LITTLE TIME” FROM LAZARUS CAST ALBUM PREMIERE

DAVID BOWIE “KILLING A LITTLE TIME
PREMIERE LIVE NOW AT DAVIDBOWIE.COM
LAZARUS CAST ALBUM 2CD / 3LP / Digital Album Featuring Three Final David Bowie Recordings To Be Released October 21 On ISO / Columbia Records

“Killing A Little Time,” one of three new David Bowie original tracks included on the Lazarus Cast Album  has premiered on DavidBowie.com.

Set for release this Friday, October 21 on ISO/Columbia Records, the Lazarus Cast Album features interpretations of classics from the Bowie canon as performed by the cast and house band of the acclaimed off Broadway production.

Exclusive to the album are three final David Bowie studio recordings. Co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti and recorded with Donny McCaslin and his quartet (the same band that played on Bowie’s ★ album), these songs —“Killing A Little Time,”  “No Plan,” and “When I Met You” — bring completely new dimensions to their Lazarus cast counterparts. The original ★ version of “Lazarus” is also included on the cast album.

The Lazarus Cast Album was produced by the show’s musical director Henry Hey, who had previously worked with Bowie on The Next Day, and features vocals from Hall, Caruso, Cristin Milioti, Michael Esper, Charlie Pollock and other cast members backed by the seven-piece house band Hey assembled for the New York run. The album was recorded January 11, 2016. Upon arriving at the studio, the musicians and cast were shocked and saddened to learn that Bowie had passed away the evening before. Their emotional performances that day are captured on this recording.

Written by Bowie and Enda Walsh, directed by Ivo Van Hove and produced by Robert Fox, Lazarus opened December 7, 2015 at the New York Theatre Workshop to great critical acclaim. The New York Times raved “Ice-cold bolts of ecstasy shoot like novas through the glamorous muddle and murk of Lazarus, the great-sounding, great-looking and mind-numbing new musical built around songs by David Bowie,” while Rolling Stone hailed it as a “Surrealistic Tour de Force… milk-swimming, lingerie-sniffing, gin-chugging theater at its finest.”

Lazarus begins its London run November 8 at The Kings Cross Theatre.
