PAUL McCARTNEY ADDS INDIANAPOLIS DATE TO ALL-NEW 2013 “OUT THERE” TOUR SECOND ORLANDO, AUSTIN AND TULSA DATES ADDED DUE TO MASSIVE DEMAND

Indianapolis Tickets On Sale Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m. Local Time

Paul McCartney has added three more U.S. dates to his all-new 2013 “Out There” tour.

Paul will play the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis IN on July 14, returning to the city for the first time since 2002’s Back in the U.S. Tour, and continuing a relationship with Indianapolis that includes his 1990 stint at Market Square Arena, as well as two shows with The Beatles at the Indiana State Fair in 1964.

Tickets to the Indianapolis show will be on sale beginning Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m. local time at Ticketmaster.com. American Express® Cardmembers can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, April 18 at 10 p.m.. All times local.

Due to massive popular demand, Paul has added second nights in Orlando, Austin and Tulsa: Paul’s May 18 return to Orlando FL for the first time since 1993 has sold out immediately and tickets for a second date at the Amway Center taking place May 19 are on sale now at  Ticketmaster.com. Paul’s first ever show in Austin, TX May 22 at the Frank Erwin Center having sold out instantly, a second show has been confirmed for May 23, with tickets on sale now at livenation.com and texasboxoffice.com. Paul’s May 29 return to Tulsa OK’s BOK Center is officially the fastest sell-out in the arena’s history, with a second show now added May 30 and on sale now at bokcenter.com, making “Out There” the first ever tour to play multiple consecutive nights at the venue.

Paul McCartney’s “Out There” tour will feature brand new, never before seen production and, as ever, hours of material from the most beloved catalog in popular music, with Paul performing songs spanning his entire career–as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course The Beatles.

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity. For approximately three hours, many of the greatest moments of the last 50 years of musical history–not to mention the soundtracks of entire lives–are magically brought to life as only Paul can do. Last year marked 40 years since Paul’s premiere tour as a solo artist and these past four decades have seen him play in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people and even a performance beamed into outer space! Having played with his peerless band of Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints.

Paul is throwing himself into 2013 with full force following yet another landmark year in 2012, which saw him conclude his record-breaking “On The Run” tour, release his Grammy-winning Kisses On The Bottom album, accept a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, play at both the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics Opening Ceremony, be named MusiCares Person of the Year, and headline 12-12-12 The Concert For Sandy Relief–to highlight just a few memorable moments. With the “Out There'” tour and a new studio album in the works, it looks like 2013 will show no signs of Paul slowing down.

The “Out There” tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting both places of historical significance to Paul and new spots for the very first time. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to www.paulmccartney.com for official news and updates.

TAKE FLIGHT AGAIN IN 2013 . . . WITH WINGS OVER AMERICA

Re-release of Paul McCartney & Wings’ groundbreaking 1976 live album Wings over America containing bonus material out May 28th on Hear Music/Concord Music Group

DVD release of the live concert film ‘Rockshow’ documenting the band’s epic Wings over the World tour across America (June 11th)

Theatrical release of ‘Rockshow’ and an exclusive VIP premiere screening – featuring an introduction by Paul – at BAFTA (May 15th)

This Spring will see another chapter unfold in the life of Wings, the band formed by Paul McCartney after the break-up of The Beatles – and one of the most successful bands the UK has ever produced.

Wings over America

First, the historic live album, which documented the band’s triumphant 1976 tour across North America, will be reissued in a range of formats. Fans and hardcore devotees alike will be especially thrilled with the stunning four-book, four-disc (3CD, 1DVD) Deluxe Edition Box Set.

The box set’s superior audio and video include the two-disc Wings over America album remastered at Abbey Road, a bonus audio disc recorded live at San Francisco’s Cow Palace, a bonus DVD containing the rarely seen 75-minute television special Wings over the World and the photo gallery montage entitled ‘Photographer’s Pass’.

Moreover, the Deluxe Edition Box Set contains four exquisitely rendered art books packaged with an incredible array of exclusive memorabilia, souvenirs, mementos, keepsakes and never-before-seen photos and art work from this historic tour.

The spectacular 110-page commemorative tour book beautifully recounts the behind-the-scenes drama through dozens of live performances and backstage photos along with new interviews and liner notes from eminent music journalist David Fricke.

The Wings over America leatherette-bound ‘Tour Itinerary’ contains extravagant memorabilia including printed 8X10 glossy band photos, a backstage guest pass, facsimiles of the invitation to the infamous end-of-tour party at the Harold Lloyd Estate in Beverly Hills along with Wings over America concert tickets, original album art work, tour posters, set lists, lyrics, press materials and much more.

‘Look’, the box set’s warm and intimate book of Linda McCartney photography features Paul and the band in their everyday life as they made their way across the country in the spring of ’76.

Lastly, the set contains ‘The Ocean View’ an extraordinary hardbound compendium of drawings and sketches by artist Humphrey Ocean that captures the band on tour in relaxed and revealing ways.  A striking artistic achievement in and of itself, the audacious Wings over America Deluxe Edition Box Set is a must have for any McCartney enthusiast.

Rockshow DVD Release

And for the first time a DVD will be released by Eagle Rock of the live concert film Rockshow which was shot in 1975 and 1976 when Paul McCartney & Wings undertook the epic Wings over the World tour–the largest-scale tour they would ever undertake as a band.

Packed with all the classic Wings hits – plus some of Paul’s solo and Beatles classics – the film is released on both DVD and Blu-ray formats. Although filmed on this tour at the enormous Kingdome in Seattle, Rockshow, originally an edited version of the concert, was not premiered until November 1980 in New York and April 1981 in London. It was originally released on Betamax (later on laserdisc) but it’s only now that the complete full-length concert is being made available fully restored from the original 35mm film and with restored & remastered sound, including a 5.1 mix for the first time.

Rockshow Theatrical Release

And then third, but by no means least, Eagle Rock has partnered with distributors Specticast who are releasing the film theatrically worldwide for a ‘one night only’ event’ on May 15th (see here for more details: http://rockshowonscreen.com/) – meaning the film will be shown in more than 500 theaters across the world! The theatrical release features an exclusive introduction with Paul McCartney, but there will also be an exclusive VIP premiere screening of Rockshow, with Paul in attendance and introducing the film, at BAFTA on 15 May 2013.

For Wings Across America Paul brought with him one the most sophisticated and dazzling rock shows of the mid-Seventies (a time when nobody worried about extravagance or expense) and the band would eventually perform to more than 600,000 people at 31 shows in the US and Canada, ending with three mind-bending nights at The Forum in Los Angeles.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the demand that greeted Paul McCartney & Wings (Linda McCartney, Joe English, Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch) in the spring of 1976 as they embarked on what would become their one and only North American tour was overwhelming.  Having released four consecutive chart busting albums including Red Rose Speedway, Band on the Run, Venus and Mars and Wings at the Speed of Sound – not to mention 1973’s Academy Award-winning James Bond theme “Live and Let Die” – Paul’s solo career was in full flight… and having not performed in the States for 10 years either solo or with The Beatles, excitement had reached fever pitch.

Now Paul gives fans the chance to be able to immerse themselves in a concert that is destined to live forever.

Notes for editors:

Wings are one of the most successful acts the UK has ever produced, achieving no less than 14 US Top 10 hits and 12 Top 10 hits at home – including “Mull of Kintyre” which with 2m+ sales remains the biggest-selling non-charity single of all time – over their ten year career

The Wings over America reissue (Hear Music/Concord) follows the re-release of Band on the Run, McCartney, McCartney II and RAM for the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.  To this point, the celebrated series, personally supervised by Paul, has been honored with the Best Historical Album GRAMMY Award forBand on the Run and most recently a Best Historical GRAMMY nomination for RAM

Released in early December 1976, Wings over America was platinum by Christmas and #1 on Billboard album chart by the third week of January. The famous live version of “Maybe I’m Amazed”, issued as a single in February 1977 (the studio version from McCartney, an FM-radio hit in 1970, was never available on 45) quickly went Top Ten on Billboard’s singles chart and has since become one of Paul McCartney’s most beloved songs

The remastered album’s release is dedicated to late members Linda McCartney and Jimmy McCulloch.

10th ANNIVERSARY TOUR TO KICK OFF TONIGHT IN RENO

Ra Ra Riot, Mates Of  State, Big Freedia Confirmed To Support On Summer Dates

“The Postal Service was a band for a generation – the soundtrack to romance, tears and friendship. More than a million people bought its first album, 2003’s Give Up… a casual collaboration – assembled via the U.S. Mail – that’s still touching hearts 10 years later.”–NPR

“Released 20 years after synth-pop was left for dead and just after ‘electronica’ had been written off amid an indie-rock revival, this 2003 gem was created by Death Cab For Cutie singer Ben Gibbard, who was just hitting his stride, with EDM maestro Jimmy ‘Dntel’ Tamborello. Full of skittering fractal beats and buoyed by cameo vocals from Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis, this emotional travelogue achieved a one-off perfection… A million-some copies later, it’s a blueprint for electronic pop”–ROLLING STONE “The 100 Greatest Debut Albums Of All Time”

(DATELINE: April 9, 2013) — They’ve revealed their never before seen 2002 audition video footage at www.funnyordie.com, they’ve unveiled the previously unreleased “A Tattered Line Of String” and “Turn Around,” they’ve recounted their origin story in exacting detail at http://youtu.be/O5XtyYUTDBU… So what else can The Postal Service do but release its Give Up (Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition) (Sub Pop) and begin the tour commemorating that very release and occasion?

Turns out that’s exactly what they’re doing: As of its release today, Give Up (Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition) makes every note The Postal Service ever recorded available in one handsome physical or digital package (including a including a stunning limited 3-LP edition on red, clear and white vinyl available through subpop.com and postalservicemusic.net). And tonight in Reno NV, The Postal Service live experience–Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello plus Jenny Lewis (Jenny & Johnny, Rilo Kiley and Laura Burhenn (Mynabirds, Bright Eyes)–plays the first show of its upcoming tour.

The Postal Service 2013 anniversary tour is quite possibly the single most hotly anticipated reunion of the year-selling out theaters, clubs, even amphitheaters and arenas the world over, including the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA and New York’s Barclays Center Arena where second dates have been added by popular demand. Dates that have already completely sold out-in addition to the aforementioned first nights in New York and Berkeley-now include London, Manchester, Las Vegas, Detroit, Atlanta, Reno NV, Davis CA, San Luis Obispo CA, Pomona CA, Boise ID, Orlando FL, Kansas City MO, Columbus OH, and more to come.

The Postal Service has also confirmed that Ra Ra Riot, Mates Of State and Big Freedia will support on various dates. See below for full details.

The Postal Service 10th anniversary dates reunite Postal Service principals Gibbard and Tamborello with Lewis, who appeared on the original 2003 album and tour. Lewis also sings on the two new songs on Give Up (Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition). Laura Burhenn (Mynabirds, Bright Eyes) rounds out the 2013 touring lineup.

Give Up was certified platinum last year just shy of 10 years from its original February 9, 2003 release. Led by the single “Such Great Heights,” the landmark album is, after Nirvana’s Bleach, the second-biggest selling album in Sub Pop’s nearly 25-year history.

THIRD MAN RECORDS VAULT PACKAGE #16 FEATURES EXCLUSIVE WHITE STRIPES VINYL DOUBLE SHOT:

Nine Miles From the White City Double Live LP

“I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother’s Heart (demo)” b/w “Little Acorns (demo)” 7-Inch

PLUS PICTURES FROM ELEPHANT 56-PAGE PHOTO BOOK DOCUMENTING THE 2002 ELEPHANT SESSIONS

In celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the White Stripes’s Elephant, Third Man has gone searching underneath couch cushions and in shady back alleys for the perfect Vault package to accompany the label’s reissue of the album. And it looks like they’ve nailed it.

Of utmost excitement is a 2 x LP blistering live set by the White Stripes recorded July 2nd, 2003 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Titled Nine Miles From the White City, this 26-song, 79-minute, tour-de-force performance is indicative of the absolute explosiveness Jack and Meg embodied at the height of their 2003 touring. Highlights include a rare live performance of Captain Beefheart’s “Party of Special Things to Do,” an especially frenetic “The Hardest Button to Button” as well as the Stripes Christmas tune “Candy Cane Children.” Hearing “Seven Nation Army” in the middle of a set (and not as a closer or encore where it would soon find itself for the remainder of the band’s career) is a quaint reminder of the inauspicious beginnings of the future stadium anthem.  The crystalline soundboard recording is best experienced through the impromptu, off-the-cuff performance of a song written on-the-spot that would be come to called “Little Cream Soda.” The song would be re-discovered (via an audience recording) by Jack and Meg during the recording of their album Icky Thump, dusted off and recorded for what would become the White Stripes final studio album.

Providing rare insight into the demo process, the 7″ in this Vault package features Jack White’s solo demos of the songs “I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother’s Heart” and “Little Acorns.” Accompanied only by his trusty piano (salvaged from a Catholic school in Detroit as it was being shuttered), Jack’s double-tracked vocals lend an otherworldly air to “…Heart.”  “Little Acorns,” in the most happy of accidents, pairs a parable spoken by legendary Detroit-area news anchor Mort Crim with White’s germination of a song idea, all through the magic of recycled 1/4″ analog tape. Of special note are White’s previously unheard guide vocals… edited out of the final mix once it would appear on Elephant.

Finally, tying all previous components back to the actual making of Elephant, the “bonus” item for this package is a 56-page collection of photos taken by David Swanson during the recording of the album. With the wonderful Toe-Rag Studio in London as the setting, this peek into the White Stripes’ recording process is both revelatory and intimate. With only three of the fifty-plus images having ever been published before, such a cache of striking images only furthers to cement the depth and breadth of Third Man’s Vault. The live show, the demos and the photos all help to contextualize Elephant, the surroundings it sprung from, the resultant whirlwind it created and all the chaos in-between. Ten years later, it’s a time that still resonates very deeply with all those at Third Man and they hope you feel so too.

(drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints–as the reviews of Paul’s 2009 visits to Tulsa and DC will testify:

“Paul McCartney is the only person in the entire world capable of what happened on Saturday night: He sang his classics for nearly three hours as he presided over an enormously and universally pleasing lovefest at FedEx Field… Macca wasn’t stingy in the slightest when it came giving the fans all they wanted — a whopping 21 Beatles songs were included in the set. He’s the definition of a legend… simply one of those shows that left you feeling tingly on the way home.”–THE WASHINGTON POST

“Simply put, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I didn’t want Paul McCartney’s show at FedEx Field last night to end. But when it did — after a two-hour set and a 30-minute encore — I think I speak for the rest of the audience when I said I left the stadium satisfied.”–THE BALTIMORE SUN

“McCartney put his seemingly endless reservoir of energy to work ensuring that no one will forget the three hours they spent with him Monday night at Tulsa’s BOK Center, a concert that celebrated the venue’s first anniversary… He showed no sign of fatigue after the lengthy show, having given Tulsa an extraordinary survey of what is arguably the greatest songwriting career in rock ‘n’ roll history.”–THE OKLAHOMAN

“A sold-out crowd crammed into the venue, and Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry declared Aug. 17 ‘Paul McCartney Day’… Reminiscent of iconic images of teens swooning before the stage at Beatles’ concerts of decades past, women of all ages hopped to their feet Monday as they shook and screamed, leaning over a safety rail up front and reaching out to McCartney. Tears welled in listeners’ eyes… McCartney is considered by many to be the greatest songwriter in history… His entire show was tight and loud — and timeless.”–TULSA WORLD

Last year marked40 years since Paul’s premiere tour as a solo artist and these past four decades have seen him play in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people and even a performance beamed into outer space!  Having played with his peerless band of Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums) and Brian Ray (bass/guitar) for over ten years, Paul never disappoints–as the reviews of Paul’s most recent visit to the state of Texas last November at Houston’s Minute Maid Park will testify:

“Paul McCartney didn’t just turn back time at the Astros ball field, he stopped the clock… The concert lasted nearly three hours, with McCartney never leaving the stage, tearing through songs from the Beatles, his time with Wings, evolving into an icon of popular music, the brightest star in galaxy…. The hits just kept on coming… the sound was overpowering and crystal clear, roaring to the back row and upper deck with ease. There was no need for him to introduce any of the songs. The audience could name that tune in one note… There haven’t been fireworks in the neighborhood like that since the Astros won the pennant in 2005.”–THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE

“Seeing Paul McCartney live is a lot of things. It’s communing with a spirit that touched millions and will touch millions for as long as humanity lurches forward. It’s hearing the bedrock anthems and the proto-everything blasts that made the past fifty years of music so damned interesting… McCartney’s set was an exhibition of the past 50 years of pop and everything that is hopefully to come. And would you believe that the man nary took a drink of water, rushed off stage for a costume change, an oxygen treatment, or an instrumental break for two hours? Even still his energy levels were off the charts, for anyone of any age… Some legacy acts touring these days, even a decade younger than McCartney, could never keep up.”–THE HOUSTON PRESS

The “Out There” tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, visiting both places of historical significance to Paul and–as in the case of Austin–new spots for the very first time. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned to www.paulmccartney.com for official news and updates.

The Third Man Rolling Record Store will also be parked in Palm Springs, and will make various appearances on its way across the country as well as in and around the Los Angeles area selling all the new RRS merchandise we told you about a little while back and more. Be sure to follow twitter.com/thirdmanrrs to keep track of its location and get your goods. For now, you can count on stops on Wed, April 10th at Amoeba Records (12-3pm) and Rhino Records (4-7pm).

Meanwhile, at the Ace Hotel, The poolside pop-up will have a limited number of exclusive, colored vinyl Elephant reissues for purchase (with a free White Stripes poster, while supplies last), as well as 100 of each of the exclusive, colored vinyl Volume Document Reissues for sale on Saturday, the 20th–all in addition to the above-mentioned Coachella-themed merch available only to the folks who make it to our oasis during Desert Gold.
