PAUL McCARTNEY GETTING BACK “OUT THERE” IN THE U.S.A.

TWO MORE DATES CONFIRMED

June 23 – Charlottesville, VA – John Paul Jones Arena

June 25 – Columbia, SC – Colonial Life Arena

Paul McCartney © MJ Kim (HI RES)
Paul McCartney © MJ Kim (HI RES)

Following an incredible 2014 which saw Paul McCartney’s universally acclaimed Out There tour play 32 shows in 30 cities throughout South, Central and North America, Paul has confirmed June 23 at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA and June 25 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC as the newest installments of the 2015 Out There tour.

These dates mark Paul’s first time playing Charlottesville and his first return to Columbia in 22 years.

Currently tearing through Japan and South Korea, and with confirmed headlines at Firefly Music Festival June 19 in Dover, DE, Wells Fargo Arena June 21 in Philadelphia, and Lollapalooza July 31 in Chicago, the Out There tour, as always, features music from the most beloved catalog in popular music, spanning Paul’s entire career – as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle. The set list also includes material from Paul’s most recent studio album NEW, a global hit upon its release in 2013.

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity; in just three hours some of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music are relived; music which for many has shaped the very soundtrack of their lives. Paul and his band have performed in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people, played the last ever show at  San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert, and even broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 10+ years – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – the show never disappoints.

The tour also uses state of the art technology and production to ensure the entire audience has the best possible experience. With massive screens, lasers, fireworks, unique video content and, of course, the best songs in the world, a Paul McCartney show is so much more than just an ordinary concert. Paul’s shows attract a multi generational audience from different backgrounds all brought together by his music.

2015 is already off to an incredible start for Paul. He has appeared on the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards with Rihanna and Kanye West performing their smash hit collaboration “FourFiveSeconds,” treated New York City to an intimate Valentines Day concert the night before appearing on the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary special, and more recently inducted Ringo Starr into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With a sold out tour of Japan and South Korea currently underway and massive U.S., UK and Europe festival and arena engagements on the horizon, Out There 2015 is sure to be another amazing chapter for a living legend who continues to make history with his every move.

Tickets for the newly announced dates will be on sale Monday, May 4 at 10am local time.

American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Thursday, April 30 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, May 3 at 10 p.m.

Keep checking PaulMcCartney.com for further announcements.

BLUR TO PLAY FREE SHOW FOR FANS ON MAY 1st: THE MAGIC WHIP LIVE IN BROOKLYN

Converse Rubber Tracks Live Showcases First Blur Classic Lineup Show in New York Since 2000

Appearing On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon April 30

The Magic Whip Out Now on Warner Bros

Blur Converse Rubber Tracks
Blur Converse Rubber Tracks

“Blur’s classic lineup—singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree—has made its first new album in 16 years, one as quixotic and seductive in its modern searching and subversive pop highs as those Nineties winners… Blur have returned with inspiration to spare.” — ROLLING STONE

New York, NY – Already en route to New York for an April 30 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Blur will treat fans to a free performance of the just-released The Magic Whip (Warner Bros) in its entirety on May 1 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY as part of Converse Rubber Tracks Live music program. The early evening, all-ages show will feature the first time in 15 years that Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree have performed live as Blur in New York.

This intimate pop-up show is only the second time the band have done this, the first time being in a small club in London a few weeks prior to the release of The Magic Whip. Support will be provided by Honduras, who has recorded at the Converse Rubber Tracks Brooklyn recording studio, and was chosen as the opening act for this special show.

Registration for free tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, April 29 at 12 p.m. EST for fans atConverse-Music.com/Blur. Fans who receive a confirmed “ticket” will be allowed to enter the venue on a first come, first serve, with admission based on capacity day of event. No hard or downloadable tickets will be distributed in advance.

Its release this week heralded by a 4-star lead review in the current Rolling Stone, The Magic Whipstarted life in Hong Kong during an unexpected break in touring in May 2013. The band spent five days at Avon Studios in Kowloon before putting the recordings aside, before carrying on with their live dates and ultimately returning to their respective lives: Dave to his day job as a lawyer, Alex to his Oxfordshire farm,Telegraph column and the hosting duties on The Big Feastival that he shares with Jamie Oliver. Graham, who has released eight critically acclaimed solo albums to date, continued to work on his own material and, in 2014, Damon released and toured his Mercury-nominated debut solo album Everyday Robots.

Graham revisited the tracks in November 2014 and, drafting in Blur’s early producer Stephen Street(Leisure, Modern Life is Rubbish, Parklife, The Great Escape, Blur), worked with the band on the material. Damon then added lyrics to the 12 tracks, completing The Magic Whip—Blur’s eighth album and first since 1999’s 13 to feature the original Blur lineup.

SPOON: INSIDE OUT REMIXES EP, OUT APRIL 28

LISTEN TO FIRST REMIX BY FABRIZIO MORETTI HERE

SWEET SPIRIT AND THE ANTLERS ADDED TO UPCOMING DATES

LISTEN TO BRITT DANIEL ON WTF WITH MARC MARON HERE

insideout-itunes

“… gossamer synth patters and swooning romanticism. When lead singer Britt Daniel asks the listener to “Break out of character for me,” the tenderness is almost shocking.” – TIME MAGAZINE

“Inside Out” finds submissive contentment amidst a drift that hints at eternity… the track willingly enters that ether as koi-pond synths twinkle in the distance, its tranquility tempered by the fact that Spoon have never made a song quite this pretty before. – PITCHFORK

“a luxuriant slow-burner with a sweet harp (!) solo, and you should listen.” – STEREOGUM

“Inside Out” goes for the gusto in terms of chill, orchestral electronica, (have those three words ever been used in succession to describe a Spoon song?) “We got nothing else to give cuz time’s gone inside out.” What an intriguing lyric to wind out this song, as we look back upon this band’s rich catalog. – PASTE

It was kismet last Friday when Justin Vernon of Bon Iver released his own haunting version of “Inside Out” from Spoon’s acclaimed album They Want My Soul. Today, four more versions of the song are revealed as Spoon releases an EP of remixes by Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes, Operators, Tycho and Brian Reitzell. The four track EP is available via digital retailers April 28.

You can check out Fabrizio Moretti’s remix right here, right now: https://vimeo.com/115992482

You can also listen to Spoon’s demo for “Inside Out”, which premiered at Song Exploder. Check it out here. Previously, Spoon discussed the making of the song on an episode of the Song Exploder podcast, archived here for your listening pleasure.

If this didn’t satisfy any lingering Spoon cravings, take a listen to Britt Daniel’s appearance on WTF With Marc Maron, as he delves into his childhood in Temple, TX, young love and heartbreak, and The Cure: http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episodes/episode_594_-_britt_daniel_jon_ronson

Last, but not least, Spoon are on tour in May and June to play songs from their storied catalogue as well as to work on some new material. Don’t miss your chance to catch them live. Full list of tour dates below.
