Last week, The Tribeca Film Festival announced the winners of the first-ever “Tribeca Interactive & Interlude: A Music Film Challenge,” created in collaboration with The Lincoln Motor Company via Genero.tv’s global creative community. From new creators to experienced filmmakers, music film entries that utilized Interlude’s interactive video authoring suite, Treehouse, were received from 29 countries around the world. Jack White has unveiled the title track and first official single from his new album Lazaretto out June 10th on Third Man Records/Columbia. The new single “Lazaretto” can be streamed at jackwhiteiii.com now and will be available tomorrow, April 22nd, as an instant download with all iTunes pre-orders.

The curtain has also been pulled back on Lazaretto’s track listing, which can now be revealed as:

Additionally, Jack recorded and released a special mono live version of “Lazaretto” (and its B-side cover of Elvis Presley’s “Power Of My Love”) within a matter of hours on Saturday, April 19th, commemorating Record Store Day by issuing and breaking the record for the World’s Fastest Released Record.  The single was recorded live direct-to-acetate that morning in the blue room of Jack’s Third Man Records in Nashville. The masters were then rushed to United Record Pressing who immediately began pressing 45s to be slipped into sleeves and then whisked back to Third Man where they were sold until demand was satisfied. Finally, on May 29th at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa OK, Jack will return to the road for the first time since the 2012 world tour supporting the gold-certified, multiple-GRAMMY-nominated, international #1 Blunderbuss. The Lazaretto tour will continue with stops throughout North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom including two-night-stands in Jack’s native Detroit, Chicago, and Paris, as well as multiple summer festival headline appearances. Kelley Stoltz will open Jack’s headline dates from May 29th through June 5th. Benjamin Booker will support July 20th-31st. Broken Bells have added a new series of headline dates to the tour that began in the wake of the #5 debut of the band’s sophomore album, After the Disco (Columbia). 

The new dates pick up immediately following Broken Bells’ already announced appearances at the Governors Ball and Bonnaroo festivals, taking James Mercer, Brian Burton and their immaculate touring band and immersive audiovisual journey from St. Louis to Portland by way of a nearly a dozen new North American stops—including a return to Minneapolis, the site of the tour’s sold out opener.

Broken Bells’ stellar live show has been translated into stunning and unique TV performances, including a must-be-seen-to-be-believed Beatles tribute on The Late Show with David Letterman, plus sublime performances of After The Disco tracks on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and most recently “Control” on Conan.

The expansion of the tour continues Broken Bells’ partnership with the B612 Foundation. As on the band’s April West Coast tour, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the B612 Foundation to help fund their Sentinel Mission, which seeks to protect Earth while preparing for future exploration. Following an incredible 2013 which saw Paul McCartney’s universally acclaimed Out There tour launch in Brazil and visit 23 cities across South America, Europe, North America and Japan, Paul has confirmed another five shows on the 2014 U.S. Out There tour. Currently tearing through Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica, with Paul’s return to Japan and debut in Korea set for next month, the upcoming Out There 2014 world tour will now feature five more U.S. dates:

* Paul will return to Chicago July 9 at the United Center, his first appearance in the Windy City since the legendary 2011 Wrigley Field doubleheader, a tour de force that moved the 
Chicago Tribune to rave “wringing new rivers of passion from songs he’s played hundreds of times… McCartney played like he wasn’t taking anything, including his place in rock history, for granted.”

* July will also see Paul playing long awaited first ever concerts in two U.S. cities:July 12 at the Fargodome in Fargo ND, and July 14 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE.
 
* On July 16 Paul will return to Kansas City’s Sprint Center for the first time since his 2010 Up and Coming Tour, a show “most musicians a third of his age couldn’t come close to equaling” per the 
Riverfront Times, and that moved the 
Pitch to implore “Please come see us again soon, Paul.”
 
* Paul’s August 2 show at Target Field in Minneapolis, will be both his first ever at the ballpark and the latest in a long and storied history with the Twin Cities:  one that includes not only Paul’s previous shows on The US Tour in 2005 and The New World Tour in 1993, but also a 1976 stop on the Wings Over America tour and began with The Beatles’ one and only Minneapolis show in 1965.

The Out There tour, as always, features music from the most beloved catalog in popular music, as Paul performs songs spanning his entire career-as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle. The set list will also include material from Paul’s most recent studio album NEW, a global hit upon its release last year.

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity; in just three hours some of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music are relived; music which for many has shaped the very soundtrack of their lives. The last decade has seen Paul and his band perform in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people, and even broadcast live into Space! Following an incredible 2013 which saw Paul McCartney’s universally acclaimed Out There tour launch in Brazil and visit 23 cities across South America, Europe, North America and Japan, Paul has confirmed another half dozen dates on the 2014 U.S. Out There tour. Kicking off next week in Uruguay, and tearing through Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica, as well as Paul’s return to Japan and debut in Korea, the upcoming Out There 2014 world tour will now feature six more shows:

* Paul will open the 2014 U.S. leg of the tour on June 14 with his first ever appearance in the hometown of his beloved Buddy Holly, playing the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock TX.

* On June 16, Paul will return to Dallas to play the American Airlines Center, his first visit to Dallas since closing his summer 2009 tour with a sold out show at Cowboys Stadium.

* June 21 will see Paul get back to another city he last played on that 2009 tour, when the Out There extravaganza rolls into Atlanta’s Philips Arena.

* Jacksonville FL will experience its first ever full Paul McCartney headline concert June 22 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena–Paul’s only previous performances in Jacksonville being his four-song set at Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005, and the one and only show The Beatles ever played in Florida at the Gator Bowl in 1964.

* On June 25 Paul will play Nashville for the second time, once again at the Bridgestone Arena where he made his historic debut in the Music City on his 2010 Up and Coming Tour.

* Paul’s August 7 date at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City will be his second ever show in Utah, the first having been on the 2010 Up and Coming Tour-which also marked the 200th show Paul had played with his current touring band.

These dates expand an itinerary including New Orleans, Louisville KY, Albany NY and Pittsburgh, all of which sold out virtually instantly upon going on sale Monday, April 14.

The Out There tour, as always, features music from the most beloved catalog in popular music, as Paul performs songs spanning his entire career-as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle. The set list will also include material from Paul’s most recent studio album NEW, a global hit upon its release last year.

JACK WHITE CONFIRMS HEADLINE TOUR

Jack White has announced his first headline dates in support of his new album Lazaretto, out June 10th on Third Man Records/Columbia. The shows will be Jack’s first since his ambitious 2012 world tour supporting the gold-certified, multiple-GRAMMY-nominated, international #1 Blunderbuss.

Prior to the worldwide headline trek, Jack will commemorate Record Store Day (April 19th), by recording, pressing and releasing the World’s Fastest Released Record: a live version of the upcoming Lazaretto‘s title track recorded direct-to-acetate that morning in the blue room of Jack’s Third Man Records in Nashville. The masters will be rushed over to United Record Pressing who will immediately begin pressing 45s to be slipped into sleeves and then whisked back to Third Man to be sold.

Jack will officially kick off the world tour on May 29th at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK and continue with stops throughout North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom including two-night-stands in Jack’s native Detroit, Chicago, and Paris, as well as the previously announced summer festival headline appearances. The current run of shows wraps up in Canada, with an arena date at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre and a headline slot at the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival in Montreal.

Kelley Stoltz will open Jack’s headline dates from May 29th through June 5th. Benjamin Booker will support July 20th-31st. In anticipation of the April 19 Record Store Day release of the 5-LP vinyl edition of The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden (Warner Bros.), Rough Trade Records NYC Gallery will unveil LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye, an interactive gallery experience produced by Melee Media opening  12 noon on Monday, April 7 in the second floor gallery space of the store’s 64 N. 9th St. Brooklyn location.

Stephen Godfroy, Co-Owner of Rough Trade, commented, “The joy of having a record shop is being able to celebrate music as an art form, and over the last decade there have been few artists who’ve evolved music more as art form than LCD Soundsystem. Hosting this retrospective experience is therefore an incredibly synergistic and humbling moment for us, one we’re incredibly excited to share.”

LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye will immerse attendees in the sounds, sights and emotions of the band’s historic April 2, 2011 farewell, an epic near 4-hour tour de force hailed by New York magazine as “a marvel of pure craft” and Rolling Stone as a “staggeringly great night.” LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye will come alive in multiple dimensions via exclusive video, advance pressings of the album’s five vinyl LPs laid out on five turntables, and a massive assortment of 4″ x 6″ prints of images by longtime LCD photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya, many never before been seen–and all available for the taking and replenished weekly.

All told, LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye will provide the most vivid recreation imaginable of that once in a lifetime performance–a priceless experience for those who were unable to attend the instantly sold out MSG show immortalized in the Shut Up and Play The Hits documentary and the aforementioned upcoming live album, as well as for attendees wanting a unique multi-sensory trip through those memories.

The LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye exhibit will run April 7 through May 7 and will be open until 11 pm nightly.

About Ruvan Wijesooriya

Ruvan Wijesooriya is a photographer based in New York City. After starting a skateboard company, working for fashion stylists and being a music journalist in his first 25 years, Ruvan became attracted to the storytelling qualities of photography. His unique vision consistently and seamlessly blurs the lines between life, art and commerce in subject areas ranging from landscapes to fashion, music to flowers. His photographs tell stories and express sentiment, his approach is immediate, genuine and curious.

Ruvan is known for the interactive and happening nature of his exhibitions. Last Valentine’s Day he and friends plastered an NYC subway tunnel with pictures of kisses, hearts, pets and roses for subway riders to take. He recently made photography as performance in the creation of an advertising campaign for Roberto Cavalli. Ruvan will be making a photo installation at the Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam this summer as part of a larger exhibition about contemporary fashion photography. His work about the influential NYC band, LCD Soundsystem, is showing at Rough Trade Records, through April, 2014. Ruvan’s prints are collected primarily by other artists and creatives such as Ed Ruscha, Michael Bastian and Doug Aitken.
