“a blunt honesty at the finish… ‘This is all I ever meant/That’s the message that I sent,’ Bowie sings… clear, elegant and emphatic”—ROLLING STONE
An animated visual interpretation of “I Can’t Give Everything Away” from David Bowie’s ★ (ISO/Columbia) created by the album’s designer Jonathan Barnbrook has been unveiled at http://smarturl.it/ICGEAvideo.
Currently impacting radio worldwide, “I Can’t Give Everything Away” is the third single from Bowie’s 28th and final record, ★.
Released January 8, 2016, ★ has since sold nearly 2 million copies globally, hitting #1 in more than 20 countries including the U.S., UK, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Barnbrook’s touching visualization of “I Can’t Give Everything Away” is a tribute inspired by ★’s closing number, created by someone who played an integral role in the album’s visual identity and presentation.
“This is really a very simple little video that I wanted to be ultimately positive,” Barnbrook says. “We start off in black and white world of ★, but in the final chorus we move to brilliant color, I saw it as a celebration of David, to say that despite the adversity we face, the difficult things that happen such as David’s passing, that human beings are naturally positive, they look forward and can take the good from the past and use it as something to help with the present. We are a naturally optimistic species and we celebrate the good that we are given.”
JonathanBarnbrook’s working relationship with David Bowie stretches back to the art of 2002’s Heathen, which featured a prototype of the Barnbrook-designed Priori font. His work with Bowie would continue to include the covers of 2003’s Reality and 2013’s The Next Day, as well as the graphics for the V&A touring exhibition David Bowie is.
Hailed as the latest in “a series of albums that rank with the best work he’s ever done” in his hot off the presses MAGNET cover story, Bob Mould’s Patch The Sky (Merge) has stormed the U.S. charts, debuting as #1 vinyl LP of the week since its March 25 release, placing at #30 on the album chart and and #80 on the overall Billboard 200.
Patch The Sky’s first week numbers exceeded those of its 2014 predecessor Beauty & Ruin, a record that intensified the prolific tear that kicked off with the 2012 release of Silver Age. Initial critical response to Patch The Sky has been similarly over the top:
“(FOUR STARS) Conjuring the ecstatic rage of his earlier bands for a grim new era, apparently still convinced that the best way to meet crushing hopelessness is by barreling head first through it with a throat-shredding howl and all amps cranked.”—ROLLING STONE
“By now, Bob Mould knows what he’s good at… has boiled down an old formula to its purest form: tight, sharp musings on aging, fizzled relationships and death that are melodic enough to sound like songs of victory.”—THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Bob Mould has mastered a guitar sound that’s shaped decades of indie rock… he can still flail a six-string better than most kids half his age.”—ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
“The alternative-rock torchbearer is undeniably in the midst of a ferocious late-career tear… his refusal to rest on his laurels that still makes his songs worth the listen.”—AV CLUB

“In searching into the unknown, more possibilities have been uncovered…Explosions In The Sky have crafted an updated version of themselves that’s ready for 2016 ears without sacrificing the band’s identity.”—AV CLUB
Fresh off the release of the band’s sixth album, The Wilderness, Explosions in the Sky confirm additional dates for their juggernaut headlining tour through Europe and North America. Along with previously announced shows in New York, Chicago and Boston, the band will pick up the second leg of the US tour out west, hitting Houston and making their way all the way to Missoula before heading east.
Having just recently lead the tour with two sold-out performances at Austin’s Paramount Theatre, fans are in for what the Austin Chronicle describes as “This wasn’t just a gig. This was an arrival 16 years coming. This was Pink Floyd just before Live at Pompeii. This was the moment when EITS went from being Texas’ kings of post-rock to scene emperors.” See below for all announced dates and grab your tickets NOW.
In other exciting news, be sure to tune in tonight as the band will be performing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert (11:35pm EST on CBS).
Additionally, EITS recently unveiled their multimedia art project, Scenes from the Wilderness—a collection of nine animated still photographs, taken by guitarist Munaf Rayani. Working with multimedia designers CHIPS, EITS has created “a visually striking, surprisingly moving way to take in the new album.” (FAST COMPANY)

NEW ALBUM THE WILDERNESS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE TODAY
NEW YORK, CHICAGO AND BOSTON SHOWS ANNOUNCED
On what is proving to be a whirlwind release day, Explosions in the Sky ardently unveil a surprise aural and visual art collaboration, Scenes from the Wilderness. Coinciding with the release of their first non-soundtrack album in five years, The Wilderness (Temporary Residence Ltd), Scenes from the Wilderness serves as both a visual companion to the record and a stand alone art project.
The band collaborated with multimedia designers CHIPS to add movement to nine still photographs taken by EITS guitarist Munaf Rayani. Rayani has served as band documentarian for the past 16 years, and the photos he chose for this project represent snapshots from their relentless worldwide touring over that time period.
The result is a characteristically nuanced, and moving, emotional experience.
Adam Squires of CHIPS on working with Explosions in the Sky on this extraordinary project:
“We’ve been fans of EITS for years, so we were thrilled to work with them…the band gave us a folder of striking and mysterious photos from their worldwide excursions—cryptic travelogue. We chose one to go with each track, and worked with Eric Overton, an amazing animator and visual effects artist, to slowly alter and degrade it, turning it into a sort of moving painting.”
“not only a resounding success for EiTS, it’s a demonstration of just how musically agile these guys are…still fully capable of conjuring wonder and amazement.”—CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
“the most significant sonic transformation of their career”—POPMATTERS
Having just opened with the “riveting, triumphant” (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN) performances at Austin’s Paramount Theater and already sold out venues in Los Angeles, Oakland, Philadelphia, Denver and Washington DC, The Wilderness tour has now added two shows in New York, as well as stops in Chicago and Boston. Don’t miss what the Austin Chronicle has professed as “This wasn’t just a gig. This was an arrival 16 years coming. This was Pink Floyd just before Live at Pompeii. This was the moment when EITS went from being Texas’ kings of post-rock to scene emperors.”
Fans had better move fast on grabbing their tickets to these legendary performances before they’re all gone:

McCartney curated career-spanning compilation out June 10
Release of career-spanning collection, from 1970 debut solo album all the way through 2012’s “My Valentine”, 2014’s “Hope For The Future” and 2015’s “Say Say Say” remix.
Available on June 10 in three different formats; 2CD, 4CD and 4LP, all featuring versions of Paul’s greatest solo, Wings and Fireman compositions.
4CD version features 67 tracks, more than 40 of which were Top 40 hits including “Maybe I’m Amazed”, “Live and Let Die”, “Mull Of Kintyre”, “Ebony and Ivory”, “DanceTonight” and “New”.
Paul McCartney and his music need no introduction. Together with three of his friends, he changed the cultural landscape forever.
And Paul’s accomplishments since then as a member of Wings and a solo artist make for a staggering body of work that stands proudly alongside those eight sensational years with The Beatles.
Pure McCartney, a new compilation of his solo, Wings and Fireman work, celebrates that fact, showcasing 67 highlights from one of the most-revered catalogues in music – from McCartney in 1970, his debut solo album, right through to “Hope For The Future”, his 2014 track taken from Destiny, the most-anticipated video game of the last decade. Not only is Pure McCartney a monumental mixtape of some of popular music’s most memorable moments from 1970 to the present day, it also features curios for the superfans and some of Paul’s personal favorites—all handpicked by the man himself..
“Me and my team came up with the idea of putting together a collection of my recordings with nothing else in mind other than having something fun to listen to,” Paul says of this project.
“Maybe it’s to be enjoyed on a long car journey or an evening at home or at a party with friends? So we got our heads together and came up with these diverse playlists from various periods of my long and winding career.”
As a songwriter Paul has never stood still, dipping his toe in countless genres and styles. Pure McCartney is testament to that fact. From the songwriting masterclass of “Maybe I’m Amazed” and adventurous, three-songs-in-one of “Band On The Run” to the irresistible groove of “Say Say Say” and ahead-of-its-time electronica of “Temporary Secretary”, described by NME when compiling a list of the greatest ever songs as “not so much ahead of its time, but out of it altogether”, Pure McCartney charts the unstoppable adventures of McCartney’s unique and eclectic songwriting talents and shines a light on his post-Beatles artistic achievements.
“The word ‘career’ is a bit misleading because to me it has been more like a musical adventure than a proper job,” says Paul, reflecting on the Pure McCartney tracklisting. “It pleases me, and often amazes me, that I’ve been involved in the writing and recording of so many songs, each of them so different from the others.”
Paul’s unparalleled career has seen his music break global chart records, win countless awards, fill stadiums around the world and become the soundtrack to millions of people’s lives across generations.

ENTERS U.S. CHART WITH MULTIPLE CAREER HIGHS: #8 BILLBOARD TOP ALBUMS #1 BILLBOARD ROCK, ALTERNATIVE & VINYL CHARTS #17 BILLBOARD TOP 200 CONSUMPTION CHART
TOP 10 DEBUTS IN 11 COUNTRIES
ON TOUR NOW
“Post Pop Depression runs the gamut from quiet introspection to brash rebellion — and stands tall as some of the Pop’s most essential work in years.”–ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
“There exists nobody on Earth quite like Iggy Pop, and his great new album is further proof.”—NEW YORK
“At once brutally effective and utterly clear: a crystalline hammer.”—THE NEW YORK TIMES
“The 68-year-old photo-punk icon will not be stopped… Awesomely gnarled”—ROLLING STONE
“A legendary rock n roll character like no other… one of the most vital and engaged works of his career”—TIME
Iggy Pop’s brand new Post Pop Depression has generated many of the most over the top real-time rave reviews of his storied career. And now the people have spoken in resounding unison with the critics:
Post Pop Depression, released March 18 on Rekords Rekords/Loma Vista/Caroline International, has entered the U.S. chart at a career high of #17—plus #8 on the Album Sales Chart and #1 on the Rock, Alternative and Vinyl Sales Charts–representing not only Iggy’s biggest across the board debut, but by far the highest any of his records has climbed on the Billboard 200 since 1986’s Blah Blah Blah peaked at #75.
The global community is unified in its love for Post Pop Depression: The album entered at #3 in Finland, #4 in France, #5 in the UK and Austria, Netherlands and Belgium, #6 in Ireland, #7 in Australia, #8 in Germany, #9 in Canada, #10 in Norway, and hit the top 20 in Sweden, Japan, Italy and New Zealand—all, like the U.S., career highs for an Iggy album in those territories.
Post Pop Depression is being supported by a very limited run of one-time-only live performances in specially selected venues. Heralded by an intimate preview performance at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom and a two-pronged tour de force that decimated this year’s SXSW festival in Austin TX, the Post Pop Depression tour began in earnest March 28 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle WA and plays the Keller Auditorium tonight in Portland OR. This once in a lifetime jaunt marks the sole occasion that the album lineup of Iggy, producer/guitarist/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/bandleader Joshua Homme, Homme’s Queens Of The Stone Age bandmate and Dead Weather-man Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders—augmented by QOTSA multi-instrumentalist Troy Van Leeuwen and journeyman guitarist/bassist Matt Sweeney—will perform this material, as well as classics spanning Iggy’s legendary solo career, in a live setting.
Post Pop Depression is equal parts a dream come true for co-creator Homme as it is a record that defiantly takes its place in Iggy’s storied discography alongside the twin towers of The Idiot and Lust For Life–two records and the mythic Berlin era of their creation canonized as much lyrically (“German Days”) as sonically (“Sunday“) on this new record. The album is a singular work that bears its creators’ undeniable sonic DNA while sounding like nothing they’ve done before. It’s a record that wouldn’t exist without either Pop or Homme–and one that probably shouldn’t in theory if you really think about it–but it does, and we and rock ‘n’ roll are all the better for it.

Eagles Of Death Metal has announced the release of the third round of the Play It Forward EODM Campaign that debuted December 18, 2015 with its first helping of covers of “I Love You All The Time” from the band’s current album Zipper Down.
As before, the band pledges to donate 100% of its publishing income from every cover sold to The Sweet Stuff Foundation, the non-profit organization founded in 2013 by EODM co-founder Joshua Homme to provide assistance to musicians and their families in times of need, as well as musical education and gear for the next generation. Participating artists were once again asked to donate the money generated from sales of the song to the charity. iTunes, Prime Music, Spotify and TuneCore Digital Distribution are also donating proceeds in participating markets.
The Play It Forward EODM Campaign was first inspired by none other than Duran Duran who reached out with an immediate and sincere act of musical solidarity in the aftermath of the November 13, 2015 attacks in Paris that took so many lives at Eagles Of Death Metal’s show that night at Le Bataclan: Spurred by a fan-led campaign to push Eagles Of Death Metal’s cover of Duran Duran’s classic “Save A Prayer” to #1 in the UK, Simon LeBon tweeted that the new romantic icons would donate their share of royalties from the track to charity.
In the weeks that followed, Eagles Of Death Metal asked artists the world over to cover “I Love You All The Time,” pledging to donate 100% of its publishing income to The Sweet Stuff Foundation. With invaluable support from TuneCore, the first wave of “I Love You All The Time” renditions were made available, with contributions from artists as diverse as Florence + The Machine (featuring The Maccabees), Kings Of Leon, Savages, My Morning Jacket, Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Eat World, the Dean Ween Group and more. On January 22, 2016, a second wave was released, with versions from Matt Cameron, Petra Haden, Nada Surf, Chelsea Wolfe and a dozen others.
And now a third round of covers is available. Contributions from none other than Elton John as well as a special collaboration from The Strokes’ Fabrizio Moretti and Nick Valensi featuring Beck—the full list of participants in alphabetical order is:

With cooperation from Fondation de France: www.fondationdefrance.org and FENVAC: www.fenvac.org, Play It Forward EODM Campaign donations to Sweet Stuff will aid the surviving family members of those killed in the November 13 Paris attacks—as well as the family of slain EODM crew member Nick Alexander. “The Community of Hope” video was directed by award-winning photojournalist and filmmaker Seamus Murphy, drawing on footage filmed during trips to Washington, D.C. undertaken by Harvey and Murphy. This is the second single taken from PJ Harvey’s forthcoming album The Hope Six Demolition Project, out April 15th on Vagrant Records.
PJ Harvey and her 10-piece band will perform a number of festival dates across Europe this summer, including London’s Field Day on Sunday 12th June, and a return to Glastonbury on Sunday 26th June, twelve years after her last appearance at Worthy Farm.

“Ritual Spirit” – featuring Azekel – taken from the EP of the same name
Produced and co-written by 3D and Euan Dickinson
3D:
Me and Kate have been friends for years, but had never collaborated, so last year we booked a studio with Medium and set up a shoot. During the session Kate was dancing in the dark, lighting herself with a naked bulb. She perfectly captured the essence of this track… intimate and ritualistic. We edited it back in Bristol to keep it raw with no re-touching, I didn’t want to lose the spirit of that moment.
Kate Moss:
I have always been a huge fan of Massive Attack and 3D has been a friend for many years. When he asked me to collaborate with him I didn’t have to think twice. I always thought their visuals were amazing and I was proud to be in this video.
Due to the overwhelming response to yesterday’s announcement of his May 4 date at the Target Center, Paul McCartney has confirmed a second Minneapolis stop on his brand new One On One tour.
On May 5, Paul will play a second night the Target Center—added to satisfy incredible demand for tickets to Paul’s first Twin Cities engagement since his legendary sold out August 2, 2014 evening at Target Field.
As with the launch of every new Paul McCartney tour, One On One promises to unveil a dazzling re-designed set, dozens of classics from the most beloved catalog in popular music, spanning Paul’s entire career–as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle—and no shortage of surprises.
One On One is the first new Paul McCartney tour since the juggernaut that was Out There came to its stunning conclusion on October 22, 2015 with Paul’s first ever concert in Buffalo, NY. Out There’s finale capped off an incredible 2015, in which the tour played 27 shows in 22 cities throughout the world, with highlights including Paul’s historic debut in South Korea—where the crowd at Seoul Olympic Stadium’s refusal to stop singing the refrain to “Hey Jude” literally forced Paul to reprise the song in the first encore, playing that signature bassline live for the first time—three nights at the Tokyo Dome and one at Budokan, a sold out stand at Paris’ majestic Stade de France, more than a dozen packed arena shows across the U.S., UK and Europe, and triumphant headlines at festivals such as Firefly, Roskilde, and Lollapalooza in Chicago—the latter a tour de force performance for a 100,000-strong crowd featuring a guest appearance from Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard on “Get Back.”
The Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show—and so much more: Nearly three hours worth of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music, dozens of songs that have formed the soundtracks of our lives. Paul and his band have played an unparalleled range of venues and locations: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert 1966, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 10+ years – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – the show is never anything short of life-changing.
The One On One Tour will debut a brand new production, as always utilizing state of the art audio and video technology and to ensure an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house. Employing massive screens, lasers, fireworks and, of course, a staggering selection of the best songs ever written or performed, every Paul McCartney show promises a once in a lifetime evening that transcends and elevates the potential of live music.
Tickets for the newly announced dates will be on sale March 21 at 10am local time.
American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets in Minneapolis before the general public beginning Thursday, March 17 at 10am local time through Sunday, March 20 at 10pm local time.
