Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are pleased to welcome Warpaint, Reggie Watts, Mark Lanegan, Nicole Atkins, Kurt Vile and the Violators and Devendra Banhart as supporting acts for select dates of their forthcoming North American tour. A listing of all confirmed dates and support can be found below. The band”s scheduled tour continues to sell out rapidly in many markets following a completely sold out tour in the spring of 2013. Those fans unable to acquire tickets for the Vancouver, BC show have reason to celebrate. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced an additional Vancouver date at the Orpheum Theatre on July 1st.  Tickets for the newly added show will go on sale this Friday, March 7 at 10am (PST) at Ticketmaster.ca.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will also make their debut on the landmark television music series Austin City Limits, filming a July 20 performance to air fall 2014 as a part of Austin City Limits” 40th Anniversary Season.

Drafthouse Films, the film distribution arm of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, will host a series of special advance screenings of Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard”s inventive, lyrical portrait of Nick Cave”s creative process 20,000 Days On Earth to coincide with Cave”s US tour. A larger scale traditional theatrical release will follow in early fall. The film made its World Premiere at this year”s Sundance Film Festival where it was awarded both “Best Directing” and “Best Editing” awards in the World Documentary category. A new video for “Lonely Press Play,” a track taken from Damon Albarn’s forthcoming album Everyday Robots, is available now via http://smarturl.it/lonelypressplay.

The video for “Lonely Press Play” is made up of scenes edited from Albarn’s personal video notebook showing glimpses, moving snapshots and observations collected by him on recent travels. Filmed on a tablet, the video visits Tokyo, London, Dallas, Utah, Colchester, North Korea, Iceland and Devon.

Albarn will play a number of dates this year with a new live band The Heavy Seas, consisting of guitarist Seye, drummer Pauli The PSM, bassist Jeff Wootton and Mike Smith on keyboards. A full itinerary is available below.

The new studio album Everyday Robots is released by Warner Bros. on April 29.

The final coda of the LCD Soundsystem saga will arrive this Record Store Day, April 19, when Warner Bros. releases The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live At Madison Square Garden, a 5-LP vinyl unabridged recording of LCD Soundsystem’s near four-hour April 2, 2011 farewell show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. On May 20th, this vinyl box set will hit retailers en masse and will be released digitally as well. Full tracklist below.

Produced and mixed by LCD founder and frontman James Murphy, The Long Goodbye is the ultimate audio document of LCD Soundsystem’s now legendary final show. The album’s exclusive mix brings new life to every note of music played during the epic MSG show–including of course the performances featured in the acclaimed film Shut Up and Play The Hits, which chronicled the concert while painting an intimate portrait of Murphy navigating its lead-up and aftermath.

Hailed by New York magazine as “a marvel of pure craft” and Rolling Stone as a “staggeringly great night,” The Long Goodbye show was the lengthiest, most career-spanning set LCD Soundsystem would ever play. The album captures Murphy and company going out on top and on their own terms: with the ultimate LCD live performance in both senses of the word. On The Long Goodbye, the LCD core live band of Murphy, Pat Mahoney, Nancy Whang, Al Doyle, Gavin Russom, Tyler Pope and Matt Thornley is augmented by a choir, string and horn sections plus contributions from both one-time-only special guests and many of the musicians with whom the band has worked over the years for incredible final performances including “North American Scum” with guest vocals from Arcade Fire, “All My Friends,” “I Can Change,” “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,” “Someone Great,” a full performance of “45:33” featuring Reggie Watts, an epic version of the song that started it all “Losing My Edge” (which can be seen here: http://youtu.be/HmrOHxS_cK0), and literally hours more.

BOB MOULD 25th ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION WORKBOOK 25 OUT TODAY

When the intense and inhumanly prolific career of the legendary Hüsker Dü went supernova in 1988, Bob Mould all but went into self-imposed exile.

Mould would re-emerge the following year with his first solo album-the incredibly impassioned and personal Workbook.

Today, Omnivore Recordings commemorates the 25th anniversary of this iconic work with the deluxe 2-CD 2-LP Workbook 25. In addition to the original album’s 11 tracks, the first CD adds “All Those People Know,” originally issued as the B-side of the single “See A Little Light.” The second CD is Bob’s complete 1989 performance at Chicago’s Cabaret Metro. 13 of the 17 tracks are previously unissued from this mythical show, which features music from the then two-week old Workbook, as well as Hüsker Dü favorites and a cover of Richard & Linda Thompson’s classic “Shoot Out The Lights.” The reissue is also available in a 2-LP vinyl edition which includes “All Those People Know” as well.

The previously announced “25 Years of Workbook”  tour kicks off with a set February 27 at the Noise Pop festival in San Francisco and a six-date run of select, intimate dates where Bob, along with long-time bassist Jason Narducy and cellist Alison Chesley who played on Last Dog and Pony Show, will be performing selections from Workbook as well as other songs in his catalog that sit nicely alongside this album. They will also be stopping by Austin, TX for sets at the Merge Records Showcase and The A.V. Club day party during SXSW.

Additionally, Bob will be returning to The Late Show with David Letterman on March 6th to continue the anniversary celebration.

Third Man Records is delighted to present Michael Kiwanuka’s contribution to the TMR Blue Series of releases.

Kiwanuka, a 25 year-old UK native of Ugandan heritage, was raised in north London where he split his time between session work and local gigs. Along the way, having found footing as a solo artist, he was signed to Communion Records, then Polydor, and has since performed throughout Europe and North America too-touring in direct support of Adele. He made his way through Nashville this past summer with just enough pause and aplomb to commit these morsels to tape. The A-side “You’ve Got Nothing to Lose” is an original composition, featuring The Buzzards’ Dominic Davis on upright bass and Cory Younts on piano, joined also by fellow balladeer Lillie Mae Rische on fiddle. Their contributions transform his work into a stone-cold groove with almost orchestral underpinnings, making it a fitting extension of their previous Blue Series.

Produced by Jack White, the single also features a chilling rendition of Townes Van Zandt’s infamous “Waitin’ ‘Round to Die” on the B-side, the perfect compliment to the timbre and mood of the A-side.

It’s about misleading perceptions – not just in terms of the character’s gender, but also from what we expect of the people she encounters. Acceptance comes from a camo-clad country boy, while it’s the presumably enlightened young person that harasses her on the bus… we were able to strike just the right tone: sweetness tainted by melancholy…or perhaps it’s the other way around? We’ve all had bittersweet birthdays.”

Arcade Fire are pleased to announce Dan Deacon and Kid Koala will be joining them as support to help kick-off the Reflektor Tour in North America. Deacon and Kid Koala are slated to open the inaugural nine dates of a massive tour that will span North America, South America and Europe throughout 2014. Following last week’s release, Broken Bells’ After the Disco (Columbia) has debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart (#3 in Canada) with nearly 45,000 copies sold. This news comes after the band claimed the #1 slot on the iTunes Top Albums chart on the day of After the Disco‘s release. James Mercer and Brian Burton’s sophomore album has already garnered widespread praise from critics and fans, putting it squarely in the running for one of 2014’s best albums.
